Location: Base location will be Elvington WTW but with Hybrid working to meet business need’s,

Are you an experienced technical engineer looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity with Yorkshire Water as a Technical Support Engineer for their E&M Water Production Maintenance Team. We are ideally looking for one Technical Support Engineer to be mechanically or Electrically biased.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support to ensure the team meets and exceeds targets and critical business performance measures. You will be responsible for coordinating with planning and scheduling teams to achieve operational excellence, health and safety excellence, environmental and regulatory compliance, zero customer impact, operational efficiency, and business plan outperformance.

Where you fit in:
As our Technical Support Engineer you will
- Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management, and control of work.
- Identify improvements in health and safety across all relevant areas.
- Work in accordance with Yorkshire Water task lists, safe working procedures, and safe systems of work.
- Create and collate risk assessments for scheduled tasks and develop safe systems of work.
- Act as the lead technical engineer between E&M craft, operations, and contract partners.
- Undertake engineering quality audits for internal teams and external contractors.
- Provide assistance with complex fault finding and identify solutions to prevent asset failures.
- Deliver training and mentoring to craft teams.
- Manage asset-based warranty claims and identify opportunities for in-house work.
- Provide engineering technical knowledge to improve safe working procedures and risk assessments.
- Identify problem assets and propose improved solutions for breakdown reduction.
- Provide engineering knowledge and support for resolving complex technical issues.
- Manage equipment calibrations and mandatory testing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies during asset maintenance activities.
- Organize and manage complex engineering activities on-site.
- Assist with the delivery of asset-based training to improve technical knowledge and productivity.
- Support the E&M Maintenance Manager in ensuring optimized asset maintenance standards and procedures.
- Provide cover for the E&M Maintenance Manager when required.
- Resolve high-priority, complex, and emergency problems.
- Support incident management and action plan delivery.
- Be on standby when required.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Experience in health and safety management processes and systems.
- Ability to understand and deliver business plan outputs.
- Proficiency in YW health and safety management procedures.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of current environmental regulations and compliance.
- Experience in delivering improvements in an engineering environment.
- Experience in incident management and asset failure recovery.
- Ability to support and embed change.
- Clear demonstration of company values and behaviours.
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and positive.
- Attention to detail and a focus on 'right first time' performance.
- Proficiency in IT.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to find innovative solutions.
- Valid driving license and flexibility to travel across Yorkshire.
- Previous experience in the water or wastewater sectors or broader utilities, process, or manufacturing industries.
- Experience in delivering excellent customer service against challenging targets.
