Location: We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Product & Process Optimiser to join our Bio-Resource department at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you? The role is covering the Dewsbury and Wakefield areas. Successful applicants would need to live with a reasonable commutable distance of Dewsbury or Caldervale WWTW and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Work type: We know that you have a life outside of work and want to help you get the right balance for you. Our assets are operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and deal with a range of biological substances. The role is working an average of 37 hours per week, working a Monday to Friday work pattern, once trained you will also take part in an operational out of hours standby rota.

The Product & Process Technical Optimiser is accountable for the process performance of a specified number of E&R sites.  This is to include STW, STF and all recycling operation and technically competent permit compliance.  The role will coordinate and optimise wastewater compliance performance, sludge throughput and sustainable recycling at each site.

 

The Product & Process Technical Optimiser will provide the site operations team with process expertise, training and support to deliver operational excellence.

 

Where you fit in:

 

As our Product & Process Technical Optimiser (PPO) you will: -

 

The PPO role forms part of the area management team and must show role model leadership and be willing to lead the site operations team from a performance perspective.

 

The PPO must present data in team hubs, lead collaborative working sessions (PSTB etc) and be visible on site, provide support and challenge in ensuring all activity is undertaken in a safe manner, in accordance with all YW Health & Safety policies.

 

To deliver industry leading operational performance in 8 key areas: Energy Consumption, Generation Performance, Chemical Optimisation, Permit Compliance, Treatment & Asset Reliability Investigations, Management of Change, Operational Guidance, Cake Recycling and Sludge Permit compliance.

 

 What skills, experience and qualifications you will need:

 

  • Knowledge of typical STW/STF asset bases.
  • Detailed technical understanding of wastewater and sludge treatment processes and importantly how to fault find/optimise these.
  • Working knowledge and experience of SCADA/RTS systems.
  • Experience of working to challenging business plans and driving delivery of outputs.
  • Experience of working with energy reports.
  • Experience of delivering continual improvement in a mature production environment.
  • Analytical and proficient in key IT systems.
  • Experience of working to Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • The duties of the role include several reactive areas, therefore effective prioritisation of workload and efficiency of delivery is essential.

 

You will also benefit from having:

 

  • WAMITAB qualified as a TCM or be willing to work towards the qualification.
  • Financial awareness.
  • Previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience of CHP engines.
  • Experience of working with gas systems.
