Location: Buttershaw / Hybrid Working with regular regional travel to Yorkshire Water sites 

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

The Asset Health & Performance Team are a new Team and are focused on measuring asset performance and proposing and implementing improvements to ensure asset efficiency and resilience. The Team is an essential part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

 

As a Mechanical Reliability Engineer, within the Asset Health & Performance Team, you will help to develop and monitor processes that provide asset performance information over the respective life cycle of the assets. The performance information is vital to show that our assets are reliable, show resilience and provide sustainability. We can then show, with confidence, that we can comply with our customer and stakeholder expectations.  

 

Where you fit in:

 

As a Mechanical Reliability Engineer, within the Asset Health & Performance Team, you will be knowledgeable on mechanical assets and how they operate / function. You will be part of a Team that develops and monitors processes that provide asset performance information over the respective life cycle of the assets. As the Mechanical Reliability Engineer you will assist in implementing robust improvement measures based on the performance measures of the assets being monitored.  

 

You will: 

 

  • Be responsible for developing, implementing and optimising asset specific mechanical equipment monitoring measures. 
  • Be responsible for proposing improvements to mechanical asset performance and resilience. This will entail collaboration with other Teams within Asset Delivery. 
  • All improvement will follow the asset technical practices and standards in line with requirements from the Principal Electrical Engineer.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of mechanical assets
  • Be the Instrumental lead in reviewing mechanical assets maintenance performance and reliability data to identify critical assets/risks to the business and instigate RCA’s for short, medium, and long-term issue resolution.
  • Develop, implement and maintain key reliability improvement processes across the YW mechanical assets base.
  • Provide documented evidence of improvements and savings and highlighting risk to the Business

 

What skills & qualifications you will need: 

 

  • Degree/ HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant Mechanical maintenance experience (ideally apprentice trained)
  • Significant knowledge and application of reliability improvement techniques and practices
  • Broad experience with Mechanical equipment maintenance
  • Extensive experience of, and proficiency in the use of, Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS, e.g. SAP S4) to develop reliability reports and the analysis of this data
  • Experience of supporting and embedding change   

 

You will also benefit from having: 

 

  • An understanding/awareness of condition monitoring techniques 
  • Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels and departments within the organisation
  • Proficiency in excel / Power Bi / Pivot Tables 
  • Current valid driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Yorkshire region
  • Water Industry experience
