Location: Yorkshire region base with regular regional travel, 1-2 days in the office / site per week

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an ICA Reliability Engineer to join the Asset Health & Performance Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Working as part of a multidiscipline team covering Electrical, Mechanical and ICA, as an ICA Reliability Engineer, you will investigate issues in our instrumentation, control, automation and telemetry systems for water and wastewater systems, driving improvements to the asset health and resilience whilst ensuring continued compliance to regulations.

 

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ICA, you will address unique engineering challenges and provide design and technical advice across Yorkshire Water.  The performance information is vital to show that our assets are healthy, reliable, show resilience and provide sustainability. We can then show, with confidence, that we can comply with our customer and stakeholder expectations. 

 

Where you fit in: 

 

  • Lead Investigations for equipment and asset failures and support investigations for process performance shortfalls.
  • Review ICA assets performance and reliability data to identify critical assets/risks to the Business and instigate RCAs for short, medium, and long-term issue resolution.
  • Be responsible for proposing improvements to ICA asset performance and resilience. This will entail collaboration with other Teams within Asset Delivery. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain key reliability improvement processes across the YW ICA assets base.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure provide strategic guidance for the deployment of new technologies. 

 

What skills & qualifications you will need: 

 

  • It is essential that you hold a formal engineering qualification to a minimum of HNC or equivalent (Preferably a HND or degree). 
  • Knowledge and ability to deliver and fully document a full Root Cause Analysis Investigation (RCA) following incidents and failures of process equipment and assets.
  • Broad experience with ICA equipment maintenance
  • Electrically qualified for safe access into control panels
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability of clearly communicating and influencing multifunctional teams with differing knowledge and ability.
  • A full, valid driving licence (with no more than 6 points) is required for the role.

 

You will also benefit from having: 

 

  • Previous discipline-specific engineering experience in water/waste/sludge treatment process-related or production-based engineering operations.
  • ICA systems knowledge, platforms used within YW are Allen Bradley SLC500, Mitsubishi IEC/GX Works, Schneider Modicon
  • Proficient in the use of corporate IT Computer Systems e.g. SAP / excel / Power Bi / Pivot Tables
  • Reliability experience within an engineering or process related industry.
  • A strong attention to detail
