Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Overtime available.

The Chemical Delivery Team Supervisor (CDTS) plays a vital role in overseeing a team of Chemical Delivery Technicians (CDTs) responsible for the safe and compliant receipt of chemicals at Yorkshire Water’s wastewater sites. This role ensures that remote operations run safely and efficiently, supporting regulatory compliance and asset performance. The CDTS is accountable for managing team performance in line with the Talking Performance framework, providing appropriate support to achieve effective outcomes. The role also involves close collaboration with internal departments and external contractors to coordinate chemical delivery activities, helping sites maintain compliance with Environment Agency requirements under the WINEP (Water Industry National Environment Programme) drivers.

As our Chemical Delivery Team Supervisor you will
- Lead and support a team of Chemical Delivery Technicians to safely and competently manage chemical deliveries, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Oversee verification processes to ensure delivered chemicals match order specifications, including type and concentration.
- Ensure the team is equipped and trained to respond effectively to chemical spills or leaks using appropriate equipment and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of chemical deliveries, including dates, quantities, batch numbers, and completion of MSDS documentation.
- Collaborate with the telemetry team to develop and maintain dashboards that monitor chemical levels, driving automation and operational efficiencies.
- Manage team performance and development in line with the Talking Performance framework, setting clear goals and providing ongoing support.
- Promote and uphold health, safety, and environmental standards, including compliance with Life Saving Rules, Stop Work principles, and safe working practices.
- Ensure team members demonstrate strong H&S behaviours, maintain competence for all tasks, and use tools, equipment, and PPE correctly at all times.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Hold a full UK driving licence to travel between wastewater sites as needed.
- Confidently use IT platforms including Microsoft Office to manage records, communications, and performance tracking.
- Demonstrate experience in leading small teams, with strong people management and coaching skills.
- Ideally have experience working in a site-based or technical role, with an understanding of operational environments.
- Undergo a medical assessment (including BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and spirometry tests) to ensure fitness for working in hazardous conditions.
- Take a practical, hands-on approach to tasks and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ensure the team safely and competently completes chemical delivery tasks, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with Life Saving Rules, Stop Work principles, safe working practices, and correct use of PPE and equipment.
