We have an exciting opportunity for a Capital Field Technician Team Leader to join the Water Service Delivery Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Capital Field Team Leader is primarily responsible for the day to day people management of the Capital Field Technicians. This will include operational responsibility of ensuring that the Capital Field Technicians carry out technical and customer facing activities that enable the consistent effective operation of the Water Distribution network in relation to Capital Works.
Ensuring that Proactive network operations are undertaken; there is completion of operational risk assessments, and that Capital Field Technicians respond effectively to network failure caused by capital works, to minimise the impact upon key performance targets, including those relating to Water Supply Interruptions, Water Quality and Customer Service.
The delivery of front-line customer service, resolving customer queries, and driving resolution through a combination of problem solving, network optimisation where required.
Where you fit in:
As our Capital Field Technician Team Leader you will
- Lead the team to deliver the capital programme by setting clear expectations linked to business targets, conducting meaningful performance discussions, and recognizing and rewarding the right performance and behaviors.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and manage escalated customer issues to appropriate resolution, maintaining direct line of sight to YW performance commitments.
- Apply the YW Performance Management Process consistently, assessing individual performance fairly and monitoring against Personal Development Plans.
- Ensure the team understands robust financial management and commercial awareness related to capital works.
- Facilitate training for new starters and up-skill existing colleagues, ensuring mandatory health and safety training is maintained.
- Work effectively with key operational teams and colleagues to drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management, and control of work.
- Manage on-site incidents and escalate as appropriate, ensuring all health and safety policies are implemented, risks are managed, and actions are completed.
- Manage the team's resources and workload, ensuring delivery of all capital works and governance of Control of Works activity in liaison with Asset Owners.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Experience of managing and developing a team.
- Knowledge of water distribution network configuration and operation.
- Understanding of capital works.
- Recognisable skillset that is preferred within the water industry, its regulators bodies and/or experience within the utility sector.
- Ability to lead and motivate field based operational roles.
- Passion for delivering excellent service.
- The ability and experience to communicate with key stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
- Ability to practically and pragmatically assess risks and benefits within your role.
- Strong networking and influencing skills.
- Excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to effectively manage your own and others' workloads.
- Commitment to delivering challenging performance targets safely and efficiently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- IT literate/ experience of using IT systems and processes.
- Experience of data handling and statistical analysis
- Excellent customer service skills
- Full UK Driver's License
