Work type: This is a permanent role, working full time, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Maintenance Technician’s to join the Water Service Delivery Team at Yorkshire Water. You will provide expert technical advice and support to the business and external customers in relation to leakage reduction through deployment, analysis and investigation of data logger anomalies to ensure regulatory compliance and enable effective resolution of complex onsite issues or disputes.

Where you fit in:

 

As our Data Maintenance Technician you will

 

Provide expert technical advice and support to the business and external customers in relation to leakage reduction through deployment, analysis and investigation of data logger anomalies to ensure regulatory compliance and enable effective resolution of complex onsite issues or disputes. You will undertake; technical audits, inspections, and incident investigations to ensure Yorkshire Water carries out its legal duties and does not compromise integrity, regulation or legislation.

  • Work on the deployment of the companies Data Logging fleet to meet regulatory targets, including uploading of deployment details onto corporate IT systems. Analysing deployment plans by utilising corporate IT systems, i.e. Odyssey.
  • Carry out cyclical maintenance of deployed data loggers
  • Work in collaboration with Data Analyst’s to carry out technical investigations and repairs to acoustic logging fleet. Take ownership of jobs and see through to satisfactory resolution.
  • Maintain non-household customers and there automated meter reading data for billing and connect 3rd party loggers to Yorkshire Water loggers for customers and metering to still get their data.
  • Arrange appointments with customers to gain access to their meters for logging purposes and maintenance.
  • Repair and connect relevant pulse units for meters where a Data logger is connected.
  • Carry out dynamic risk assessments to ensure all activities are safe and delivered with minimal customer impact

 

What skills and qualifications you will need:

 

  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
  • You will be required to enter confined spaces as part of the role you will therefore need to pass a medical assessment for this, as part of our offer process.
  • Able to use and act upon own initiative to solve and overcome problems/issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Analytical skills and able to understand and use a range of IT systems  
  • Flexible approach to the role (i.e. is able to work nights, weekends and outside your allocated area)
  • Commitment to delivering challenging performance targets safely and efficiently
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points (as you will be required to travel throughout Yorkshire) 
  • An understanding of the water distribution network and loggers would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided as part of the role.
