Location: Field-Based around the Northallerton area of North Yorkshire.

 

Work type: Fixed term contract. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

 

We have an exciting 18-month FTC opportunity for a Smart Metering Contract Assurance Technician to join the Smart metering team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

As a Smart Watering Contract Assurance Technician, you will responsible for reviewing and auditing work carried out by our service partners on site during the installation of 1.4 million smart meters across AMP 8.

As our Smart Metering Contract Assurance Technician, you will:

 

  • Review and audit work carried out by our service partners on-site, ensuring adherence to correct specifications, legal, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Compare job cost data against your on-site audit findings to verify that payment applications accurately reflect the work completed.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders within Yorkshire Water and our service partners to develop and implement improvement actions for identified quality and commercial issues.
  • Systematically capture data from your site inspections and audits.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of inspection and audit data to pinpoint recurring issues and trends.
  • Prepare and present your findings to relevant stakeholders within both Yorkshire Water and our service partners on a regular basis.
  • Attend sites where remedial works are being undertaken by service partners to provide assurance that feedback on the remedial work is accurate and appropriate.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellent performance by clearly communicating expectations of our partners, aligning with key business targets.
  • Actively drive and promote excellent standards in health and safety, environmental compliance, and the overall quality of workmanship.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate escalation of any identified risks and issues through the correct channels.
  • Undertake fact-finding and analysis of current working practices to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Engage proactively and communicate effectively with partners and their management teams to highlight issues and collaboratively develop and implement timely and effective solutions and new ways of working.
  • Maintain professional and effective working relationships with our Clean Water service partners.

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

  • Excellent knowledge of Clean Water operations and functions.
  • Strong health and safety knowledge, experience, and skills.
  • A demonstrable excellent customer service ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and customers.
  • Organised, the ability to manage your own workload effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work
  • A full, valid driving license.

 

You will also benefit from having:

 

  • Experience in conducting audits or inspections in a utilities or similar environment.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with external partners or contractors.
  • The ability to influence and drive improvements through effective communication.
