Work type: Permanent. A rolling 3 weeks of nights (Monday to Thursday) and 1 week of days (Monday to Friday). 37 hrs per week

 

Location: There are a number of Night Trainee Leakage Inspector positions available across the region. The base location will be dependent on home location.

 

What is the purpose of the Night Trainee Leakage Inspector role and what is the working pattern?

 

The Trainee Night Leakage Inspector will work alongside the Night Leakage Inspector and support with advanced investigation activities in the most problematic and challenging DMA's across the region. The work will involve supporting with step testing and more complex leakage investigation activities in order to locate and promote leakage for repair. In addition. The Team will carry out activities that will achieve longer term benefits to the network, including DMA optimisation, meter servicing, commercial usage investigations and work directed by our Engineering Teams.

 

You will be expected to work a rolling pattern of 3 weeks of nights and one week of days so you must have the ability to work during unsociable hours.

With some of the Trainee positions, you will work in the field and classroom to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Water Network - Leakage. This comprehensive qualification combines classroom learning with hands-on field assessments, preparing you for success.

 

Successful completion of the traineeship includes the minimum of a pass at end point assessment within two years of starting the Apprenticeship (which is the apprenticeship start date). This includes assessments of knowledge, skills and behaviours detailed within the Apprenticeships standard, all of which must be met and agreed by the training provider and line manager within Yorkshire Water before being put forward for End Point Assessment.

 

The successful completion of the traineeship will include meeting the knowledge, skills and behavioural requirements of the apprenticeship standard and internal expectations plus the successful completion of the end point assessment.

  • Learn advanced detection and investigation techniques without impacting on the wider water network

  • Work as part of a team of experienced Night Leakage Inspectors.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

  • Willingness to work unsociable hours (consecutive nights).
  • Full EU driving license with a maximum of 6 points.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to our company values and behaviours.
  • Passion for exceptional customer service.
  • Proficiency in corporate systems and IT applications.
  • Grade 4 (C GCSE) or equivalent (can be a functional skills qualification) in maths and English language (proof of qualifications required)

  • Background in water, wastewater, utilities, or manufacturing.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of leakage principles.
