Location: Foxbridge Logistic Centre, Normanton, 5 office days per week
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

As a Logistics Coordinator you will be the key contact for the coordination of our internal heavy lifting fleet, crane hire and relevant finances. Working with the scheduling team to provide heavy lifting capabilities for jobs when required, roughly this is 80% Planned work and 20% reactive across the region. As part of this function the coordinator works closely with various contractors and external stakeholders.
Part of this role looks at efficiencies within the heavy lifting function to reduce Co2 emissions and fuel costs whilst ensuring the most effective vehicle is sent on a job.
In this role, you’ll demonstrate relentless drive, energy and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for Yorkshire Water that rigorously achieves against demanding competitive industry benchmarks.
Where you fit in:
- As a Logistics Coordinator you will have the ability to manage the busy demands of the service desk, scheduling and operations.
- You will schedule the heavy lifting fleet, optimising routes and completion rates working closely with other teams.
- You will have the ability to process payments in SAP Ariba for external suppliers
- Covering of other roles in the function when necessary.
- You will develop an excellent network of contacts, both internally externally
- Work as part of the Logistics team to deliver excellent performance by understanding how their individual performance links into achieving both team’s wider objectives.
- Demonstrate relentless drive, energy and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for YW that rigorously achieves against demanding competitive industry benchmarks.
- Demonstrate financial awareness when making day to day business decisions.
- Responsible for the support of the co-ordinated output of the Logistics Team.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience of understanding where your role fits within a business plan and then developing ways to deliver the outputs.
- To develop and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
- To influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
- Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours.
- To take ownership of area in terms of supporting and advocating a safe working environment by implementing and adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Influencing and negotiating ability to be demonstrated internally and externally.
- The ability to work flexibly and deliver results.
- To be highly motivated and with a clearly demonstrated ability to use own initiative and deal with events and the unforeseen.
- Proficient in the use of all Microsoft office packages, predominantly excel! – An excel test will be required!
You will also benefit from having:
- Experience of delivering against challenging business targets.
- Previous experience gained within a logistics environment.
- Good geographical knowledge of the Yorkshire region
- Good knowledge of SAP
