Location: This role will be based at Foxbridge Logistics Centre in Normanton 5 office days per week.

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator to join the Asset Maintenance department at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Yorkshire Water's internal heavy lifting fleet, external crane hire, scaffolding services and associated financial processes. Working closely with Scheduling, Operational and Delivery teams, the role ensures lifting, and access solutions are planned and delivered safely, efficiently and cost-effectively across the Yorkshire region.

 

Supporting both planned and reactive activities, the role requires effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers to deliver operational requirements within agreed timescales.

 

A key aspect of the role is driving efficiencies through effective resource planning, cost management and the optimisation of fleet utilisation, helping to reduce fuel consumption, carbon emissions and overall operational costs.

As our Logistics Coordinator you will:

 

  • Managing and prioritising a high volume of lifting and scaffolding requests across a geographically dispersed region.
  • Balancing operational requirements, customer expectations and financial considerations.
  • Driving improvements in fleet utilisation and contractor performance whilst maintaining service levels.
  • Working independently and making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for coordinating the internal heavy lifting fleet, external crane hire and scaffolding services.
  • Work closely with Service Desk, Scheduling and Operational teams to ensure resources are planned and deployed effectively.
  • Coordinate contractor and supplier activities to meet operational requirements and business priorities.
  • Manage scaffold and equipment hire periods, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and costs are controlled.
  • Process and validate supplier invoices and payments through SAP Ariba, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Produce reports and performance information relating to lifting operations, scaffolding activity and associated costs.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and contractors to support service delivery and resolve operational issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, resource utilisation and service performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental and logistics procedures.
  • Provide support and cover across the wider Logistics function as required.

 

 

 

What skills, experience & qualifications you will need:

 

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience of building and maintaining effective internal and external relationships.
  • Financial awareness, including invoice validation and supplier payment processes.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and advanced Excel capability.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently using initiative.
  • Commitment to health, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates Yorkshire Water's values and behaviours.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (no more than six points)

 

You will also benefit from having:

  • Experience within logistics, fleet management, utilities or operational coordination environments.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, scaffolding services, plant hire or specialist operational services.
  • Experience using SAP and SAP Ariba.
  • Knowledge of the Yorkshire region.
  • Experience delivering against operational or business performance targets.
