Location: Foxbridge Logistics Centre, Normanton, Wakefield

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, Voluntary standby rota for weekend working.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Lifting Operative to join the Logistics Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Where you fit in:

 

As our Heavy Lifting Operative you will

  • Provide delivery of parts and materials to our Operational sites in a safe and timely manner and provide a range of specialist lifting services.
  • You will take personal responsibility for yourself and others with respect to health and safety, risk management and control of work to ensure compliance with our Safety Policy. You’ll also have the responsibility for maintaining safe, tidy and organised central stores whilst ensuring parts are delivered to safe and secure locations.
  • You’ll also be expected to contribute towards ensuring the most effective use of resource in delivery of parts and undertake all vehicle and equipment checks. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the Health & Safety requirements for all lifting operations and good knowledge of LOLER regulations
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the yard
  • Adhere to safety instructions on site
  • Document daily preoperational checks
  • Use of FLT for material handling of larger goods
  • You will have an accredited lorry loader licence or equivalent and preferably to an unlimited class level
  • Use your initiative to react to changing environments or situations on site and the ability to adapt. 

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Full UK Driving Licence (with no more than 6 points), minimum Class C LGV
  • An ALLMI accredited lorry loader license or equivalent
  • Experience of Hiab Lorry Loaders (with winch) via remote control
  • To develop and maintains effective internal and external relationships
  • Experience of lifting operations using lorry mounted cranes and the preparation of lifting plans in various situations and environments
  • Experience of working as part of an effective team in a reactive environment
  • Clearly demonstrate the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be physically fit as some heavy lifting maybe involved

 

 

You will also benefit from having:

  • Drivers CPC
  • CPCS
  • ALLMI accredited
  • Experience of preparing basic and complex lifting plans
  • Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
