Location: Harrogate and surrounding area. (Will be subject to travelling outside of area to meet business needs)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week Monday-Friday hours to be confirmed but usually 7-3 or 8-4
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Side Leakage Reduction Trainee Technician to join our Water Service Delivery team. This role is key to delivering industry-leading customer service and supporting Yorkshire Water’s leakage performance commitments.

You’ll take end-to-end ownership of the customer journey, working directly with customers to resolve leakage issues on private pipework, using innovative technology and proactive detection methods. This is a hands-on role where you’ll combine technical skills, problem-solving, and customer engagement to make a real impact.
Where you fit in:
As our Customer Side Leakage Reduction Trainee Technician you will
- Deliver excellent face-to-face customer service, owning problems through to resolution.
- Detect and investigate customer side leakage to meet performance targets.
- Promote and validate repair work with service partners to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Carry out accurate surveys and support legal enforcement processes (s.75).
- Use advanced leakage detection equipment and corporate systems (e.g., Temetra, Netbase).
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive efficiency and innovation.
- Maintain the highest standards of health and safety and customer experience.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Strong communication and influencing skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills and confidence to make decisions.
- Technical aptitude for leak detection and data interpretation.
- Full clean driving licence.
