We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Field Manager - East Yorkshire to join us within Waste Water Process & Pumping. This is a key position which drives business performance and direction through role model leadership to a team of operational and technical colleagues.



Waste Water Process & Pumping ensures the delivery of world class asset management and operational excellence across YW assets, to deliver health and safety excellence; regulatory compliance; operational efficiency and business plan outperformance.

 

Salary and Benefits: Up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience + pension + annual performance related bonus + 28 days leave plus bank holidays + company car/allowance. You will be covering all of the East Yorkshire Area.
 



What will the role involve?

 


As an Operational Field Manager you will be responsible for driving and managing operational performance through effective management. This will be across a range of waste water assets in order to achieve our company vision and our Performance Commitments; Pollution Incidents, Waste Stability and Reliability Factors, Internal and External Flooding, Bathing Water Quality, Customer Service, and Optimal Energy Generation and Consumption.



The role will involve key stakeholder liaison with various internal teams, key stakeholder and supporting departments to prevent asset failure, drive mitigation and resolution of waste water asset risks/failures and ensure our regulatory targets and key business objectives are achieved.



You will be accountable for all aspects of the Operational Field Team P&L, including business plan creation, forecasting, preparing of mid- month and month end financial performance reports, whilst providing assurance to the Head of WWPP that financial governance is being adhered to in-line with Financial Regulations.

 



Experience/skills/training needed:



· Excellent written & communication skills


· Experience of Health and Safety management processes and systems and excellent knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety standards (preferably IOSH qualified)


· Good understanding of waste water treatment and/or sewer networks


· Ability to performance manage – awareness required of actions on performance measures (pollution, flooding (internal, external and S&R)


· Identifying and solving issues in a timely and effective manner, to ensure that network activity doesn’t have an adverse impact on network stability or customer service


· Planning ability - identifying priorities and actions to assist in delivering results


· Proactive business approach, developing a broad commercial understanding to ensure delivery of strategic business objectives


· An in-depth knowledge of key business processes that allow day to day delivery and visibility of individual and team performance (e.g. Hubs, triggers process)


· Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships


· Rigorous attention to detail to ensure ‘fix first time and right first time’ performance


· In-depth knowledge of Microsoft applications, YW telemetry and ICOM systems


· A full valid EU driving licence and use of a car


· Be proficient in all corporate safety and SAP IT systems


· Influential, able to negotiate and challenge effectively


· Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours  and all aspects of the Responsible Leader Framework


· Dynamic people leader with proven success in managing a team in busy operations environment, managing day to day reactive workloads


· Experience of delivering against challenging business targets and realising KPIs in a sustainable and safe way


· Experience of budget management (business planning and delivering to plan)
