Communications & Engagement Advisor (Living with Water)


Salary & Benefits : £35,308 -£44,134 per annum dependant on experience, company car through company lease scheme, annual bonus, attractive pension scheme (Up to 10% company contribution), life assurance cover of 4 times pensionable salary and 25 days annual leave, bank holidays, 8 x bank holidays plus a wellness day and development opportunities in line with the Communications & Engagement Advisor  progression plan. Location:  Hull/ Hybrid Working (a mix of office and home working)
 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between the working window of 8:00am-6:00pm. 
 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications & Engagement Advisor for our Living with Water Partnership to join our Strategy & Regulation team.

We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Living with Water team to work both across the business, and with our external partners, to support the communication and engagement work that is at the heart of our innovative flood resilience investment and our wider resilience work. Where you fit in – 
 

As Communications & Engagement Advisor (Living with Water) you will work with the General Manager and Partnership Teams to develop a communications and engagement strategy, that will deliver the business and partnership objectives of Living with Water (LWW) programme via multi-channel and  multi-audience engagement
 

You will – 


•    Lead on the development of a detailed plan to deliver the strategy and work with the team and various stakeholders  to deliver these across multi-channels and multi-audiences to achieve the Living With Water (LWW) strategy objectives
•    Monitor and evaluate the communications strategy in line with the strategic business objectives reporting back to key stakeholders
•    Ensure all events and activities deliver the business objectives of the sponsorship
•    Work with the stakeholder engagement team to ensure our engagement plan strengthens our relationships in local communities in the build up to our legacy programme and help improve overall customer and stakeholder reputation within the region, in particularly showcase the benefit Yorkshire Water brings to local communities, particularly in its offering in Hull and the East Riding
•    Work with internal stakeholders at all levels to maximise programme value within the business

 

What skills and qualifications you will need: 
 

•    Previous experience in developing a stakeholder focused programme that supports business goals and achieves positive outcomes
•    Previous experience of managing and developing internal communications channels, processes and activities and a creative mindset. Able to identify and develop a strong communications narrative that supports and enhances the reputational impact of the brand.
•    Strong numeracy and presentation skills to be able to derive meaningful actions out of a set budget across multiple channels
•    Strong analytical background to evaluate the effectiveness of the programme and provide a clear and unambiguous feedback loop back to the business for reporting.
•    A confident communicator with previous experience in building strong relationships both internally and with external stakeholders and the media. Able to present and engage a wide range of audiences from senior leadership and heads of companies to front line operations across partnership groups.
•    Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to effectively manage a communications rollout.
•    An ability to create content that users want to engage with and ability to utilise this content to build relationships and create advocacy


The role will involve travel to different sites across Yorkshire, therefore you will need a UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
 

We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of one to two days in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
