We are looking for an apprentice to be based within the East Yorkshire area.

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Electrician to join the Process & Pumping Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Waste Water Service Delivery are the team who remove waste water from our customer’s homes and businesses and treating it to a standard where we can safely return it to the environment.

 

Where you fit in:

As our Apprentice Electrician, you will work to develop competence in:

  • Testing assets to verify that systems and installations meet safety regulations and performance standards.  
  • Install electrical components including wiring to put electrical systems into place.
  • Maintain and oversee the upkeep of electrical systems and equipment. 
  • Research to develop new electrical systems and technologies including understanding the different electrical technologies used across the years and upcoming technologies.
  • Collaborate: Work with other professionals, such as software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers to ensure that assets are in working order and meeting regulations
  • Following health and safety practices and attending relevant training.

 

What you will study:

Our Apprentices enrol on a level 3 Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship which is equivalent to 3 A-levels and where the opportunity is available apprentices can progress onto a HNC qualification. What you will need:

  • To hold or be predicted 5 GCSEs or equivalent grade 4 and above/ A-C including English, Mathematics and a Science subject.
  • An interest in Engineering and Science through a hobby.
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A willingness to learn new skills and a strong work ethic.
  • The ability to work outdoors in all weathers and within confined spaces.
  • The willingness to travel across Yorkshire.
