Location: This role will initially be based in Bradford but we’re moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future / Hybrid Working minimum 3 days a week in the office
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

The purpose of the role is to provide technical expertise across the Service Delivery Business Units by integrating process and data knowledge to maintain up to date key data system environments, perform performance tuning, deliver enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and support investigations. The role also plays a key part in shaping and influencing planning and scheduling improvement programmes, ensuring that both people and process perspectives are considered when guiding interventions and solutions. Central to its success is ensuring that work management strategies and principles are effectively implemented, creating a strong interface with the business and enabling a consistent, robust work management process.

As our Workplace Management and Data Specialist you will
- Lead the improvement and optimisation of work management systems and processes, maximising opportunities and business benefits for Yorkshire Water and its partners.
- Ensure work management requirements effectively cover all activity types—customer, reactive, and planned—across all work groups.
- Influence service partners to departments to align their planning and scheduling processes with core Yorkshire Water performance metrics and customer outcomes.
- Collaborate with a community of advocates and stakeholders to transform work management processes, functionality, and system design.
- Produce high quality documentation to guide the design, build, implementation, and deployment of future work management processes and systems, including training and coaching.
- Analyse, present, and communicate detailed performance data clearly to audiences ranging from front line technicians to senior directors.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for work management, working closely with internal and external system experts, industry consultants, and stakeholders to benchmark best practice, identify improvements, and develop robust business cases.
- Build strong working relationships and actively engage with colleagues and contractors to support aligned decision making, safe working practices, and successful change implementation across the organisation.
- Create meaningful and useful dashboards to present in PEx Hubs and other performance related forums
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Strong knowledge of ICOM systems and applications, supported by experience in work management roles with the ability to analyse, interpret, and understand KPIs.
- Proven ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently, delivering projects to time and scope with strong organisational skills.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting, embedding, and influencing change, driving the right behaviours and outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to work with solution providers to resolve issues.
- Consistently demonstrates Yorkshire Water’s values and behaviours in all aspects of work.
You will also benefit from having:
- Strong operational expertise with experience delivering against challenging targets, ideally gained within the water, wastewater, utilities, process, or manufacturing sectors.
- Skilled in anticipating problems, understanding cause and effect, and identifying practical solutions, supported by experience in process modelling and implementing sustainable, well governed change.
- Effective negotiator and influencer with experience working on large scale, technology enabled change programmes and knowledge of planning and scheduling systems beyond the YW ICOM platform.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret operational performance data related to work management systems and processes to drive informed decisions and improvements.
