Location: Bradford, BD6 / Hybrid Working (one to two office days a week – Bradford and must be willing to travel to our sites across Yorkshire).

Within our team you will help us to deliver world class asset and operational excellence in pursuit of health and safety excellence; regulatory compliance; operational integrity and resilience; operational efficiency and business plan out performance.

 

Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to realise benefits using CI methodology to design, communicate and embed sustainable process improvements across the wider business.

As one of our potable Water Quality Continuous Improvement Specialist you will

 

  • Be able to solve problems often under pressure and to deadlines.
  • To consider health and safety at all times and to support a zero-accident culture.
  • A can-do attitude with not only an ability to plan for the future but a capability to deal effectively with the unforeseen.
  • Act as key WQ continuous improvement focal point for Team, business service partners and stakeholders.
  • To develop processes and procedures in line with continuous improvement in potable water quality performance.
  • To support and deliver key initiatives and projects in relation to route cause analysis in Water Quality Compliance, for the wider business.
  • Minimise water quality related customer contacts and to help deliver our vision of taking responsibility for the water environment for good.
  • Ensure compliance with Performance Commitments 
  • Preparation of root cause analysis (RCA), to support both 72 hour and 20-day reports for submission to our Regulator.
  • Preparation of investigatory findings, ensuring learning can be shared with wider business.
     

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

 

  • Ability to investigate incidents and events to protect public health and to minimise impacts on water quality compliance.
  • Ability to participate in team working initiatives.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to fault find processes and systems whilst having the ability to handle large amounts of diverse data and to spot potential risks to compliance.
  • Be able to establish meaningful performance measures or methodologies.
  • An aptitude to use route cause methodology in the understanding of water quality events or failures and implementing steps or processes to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Demonstrated Influencing, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Engineering/Scientific degree.
  • Driving licence is required for this role.
     
     

You will also benefit from having:

 

  • Understanding of WTW production and distribution processes.
  • An ability to be able to clearly present a range of information using a range of mediums to a wide audience.
  • Experience of delivering against challenging business targets.
  • Experience in a regulated environment and experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities.
  • Knowledge and previous experience / ability to apply continuous improvement methodology, such as Lean; Six Sigma; Systems Thinking, to deliver process improvements.
  • Extensive knowledge of YW corporate systems and confident in the use of primary software packages.
