We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Clean Water Asset Planning to join the Water Asset Planning, Strategy and Investment Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water provide the best services to our customers and the environment. Could this be you?

This exciting role will lead the Water Asset Planning, Reservoir Safety and Clean Water Environment & Compliance Teams, responsible for ensuring our large impounding reservoirs are safe, focussing investment in the right areas to deliver a step change in water treatment and safeguarding potable water supplies now and into the future, as well as ensuring we cause no harm to the environment.
 

Yorkshire Water will be investing up to £600m into this department over the next five years, and you will spearhead that investment to ensure it is directed in the right areas to deliver maximum benefit, now and in conjunction with out Long Term Delivery Strategy.

As Manager of Water Asset Planning you will:
 

•    Deliver world class asset management through strategic, planning and solution interventions and delivery on all assets in pursuit of health and safety excellence; regulatory and statutory compliance; risk management; innovation and technology application; operational, and totex efficiency; strategic clarity and direction and business plan outperformance.
•    Understand asset risk, performance, shortfalls, opportunities for extending asset life and when mitigation or capital intervention is required.
•    To predict future performance shortfalls and provide the evidence for regulatory submission
•    Understand gaps in current and future asset health and performance and deliver  solutions that can benefit both the short term, whilst also contributing to our Long Term Delivery Strategy.
•    Create and lead a high performing team with a clear vision, objectives, and accountabilities.
•    Contribute to excellent ODI Performance in key areas such as CRI (Water Quality), Unplanned Outage and Customer Minutes Lost.
•    Work with our Programme Delivery partners to hold them accountable for delivering the right service to our sites, customers and the environment every day.
•    Drive a culture of continuous improvement, with the right levels of coaching, training, and support for all colleagues.
•    Ensure schemes with regulatory or statutory compliance dates are delivered on time and to cost.

 


What skills & qualifications you will need:
 

•    Proven track record of leading large process improvement programmes in complex regulated and commercial businesses.
•    Degree qualified
•    Seasoned leader with demonstrable experience of creating high performing, engaged and capable teams.
•    Experience in the water industry or wider utilities.
•    Extensive knowledge of risk management 
•    A strong ability to challenge accepted methods and ways of working.
•    Experience in delivering improvement against a range of performance indicators.
•    Ability to see all perspectives, tactical and strategic
•    The ability to take a holistic approach to company risk and performance 
•    Ability to develop, maintain & leverage value from an extensive internal & external network
•    Exceptional communications skills, both oral & written
•    The highest standards of integrity & ethics

 

You will also benefit from having:
 

•    Awareness the Final Business Plan and the allocation of funding to achieve defined outputs
•    Good understanding of the regulatory framework, including Ofwat, DWI and EA
