Location: West Yorkshire / Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office a week – Bradford – Relocating to Leeds Summer 2026)

 


Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

 


We have an exciting opportunity for a Third Party Claims Assistant to join the Insurance team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

As our Third Party Claims Assistant you will:

 

  • Log new claims accurately onto internal systems and the claims portal, capturing all key information. 
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls to gather details, provide updates, and support customers through their claim journey. 
  • Maintain organised, up to date records of all claim activity and correspondence. 
  • Support Claims Handlers by gathering evidence, requesting documents, and preparing files. 
  • Monitor shared inboxes and respond promptly to routine enquiries. 
  • Produce clear, professional written communications including acknowledgements, updates, and information requests. 
  • Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather information and progress claims. 
  • Complete all admin tasks in line with company procedures, regulations, and data protection standards. 
  • Deliver excellent customer service with empathy, professionalism, and a solution focused approach. 
  • Manage your workload effectively, balancing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and support continuous improvement. 
  • Take responsibility for your own health, safety, and wellbeing, while supporting colleagues. 
  • Own your development and performance, seeking growth and learning opportunities. 
  • Resolve customer queries where possible or escalate appropriately when needed. 
  • Support the wider team with administrative tasks and service improvements. 

 


What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to handle customer conversations professionally. 
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy. 
  • Comfortable working independently, using initiative, and following defined processes. 
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality. 
  • Confident using digital systems, Microsoft Office applications, and online portals. 
  • Experience in administration, customer service, or claims handling is beneficial. 
  • Knowledge of insurance, legal liability, or public liability processes is an advantage. 
  • Familiarity with systems such as Figtree, SAP, or similar case management tools is desirable. 
  • An understanding of Yorkshire Water operations or the Water Industry Act is a plus.
