Location:  Hybrid Working (Please note that whilst the post is based with Yorkshire Water in Bradford, the post holder will be expected to work from National Trust offices within the region along with home working as appropriate).

 

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Yorkshire Water makes sure that over 5 million people living in the region and the millions of people who visit our region each year, can rely on our services, and have clean and safe drinking water on tap and that their waste water is taken away.

 

The National Trust has over 5 million members, 65,000 volunteers and over 25 million visitors to their 500 sites and 250,000 acres of land. Our new 10 year strategy sets out our ambition to restore nature, to end unequal access to beauty, nature and history and to inspire millions more people to care and take action. The Common Cause Partnership will help us achieve these goals.

 

 

Where you fit in:

 

 

As our Strategic Partnerships Officer, you will:

 


•    Represent and promote the Our Common Cause partnership across Yorkshire Water, National Trust, and wider audiences.


•    Lead and deliver catchment- and landscape-scale nature restoration projects, securing stakeholder engagement and support.


•    Identify and manage external funding opportunities and partnerships that align with Yorkshire Water and National Trust’s strategic goals.


•    Provide governance support, including data sharing agreements, KPI tracking, and leadership of board and workstream meetings.


•    Drive place-based project delivery, such as Landscapes for Water Phase 2 and Marley Park.


•    Support ongoing and emerging strategic initiatives, including the South Pennines Vision.


•    Document and share partnership principles, best practices, and strategy frameworks.

 

 


Essential Skills & Qualifications:

 


•    Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships; excellent influencing and communication skills.


•    Strong leadership, with experience motivating teams across matrix structures and multiple organisations.


•    Demonstrated success in delivering multiple landscape-scale nature restoration projects.


•    Solid understanding of project management principles, with a proactive, decision-making approach.


•    Experience with grant management, procurement, contracting, and financial processes.


•    Skilled in risk management and navigating complex, evolving project landscapes.


•    Experience in multi-partner projects and collaborative environments.


•    Self-motivated, resilient, and committed to personal and team wellbeing, with a strong safety ethos.

 

 

 

Desirable Experience & Attributes:

 


•    Cost-benefit analysis and development of funding applications/proposals.


•    Project management qualification (e.g., APM or equivalent).


•    Data analysis and interpretation skills, with the ability to communicate insights clearly.
