We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join the Asset Delivery Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Asset Delivery Team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
Yorkshire Water is investing £1.3 billion in a major environmental programme to address storm overflows as part of its AMP8 investment cycle. Central to this is a new capital delivery Alliance, uniting Yorkshire Water with delivery and design partners.
We’re hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead high-value infrastructure projects (£5M–£100M+) from concept to completion. You’ll work across a complex, multi-organisation Alliance, engaging with regulators, partners, internal teams, and communities to drive performance and environmental outcomes.

Where you fit in:
As our Senior Project Manager you will/be:
- Have accountability for successfully leading delivery of programmes of work to realise the business case benefits, including: safety, value, time, and quality.
- A People Leader managing a team of Yorkshire Water Projects Managers and Project Coordinators to develop a high performing Team working in the Alliance.
- Working as a key member of the Alliance integrated team, building trust and working collaboratively to deliver the Alliance and Yorkshire Water programme objectives.
- Ensure that risks and opportunities are managed pro-actively and you lead by example, sharing best practice across the Alliance community in all aspects of programme delivery.
- A strong influential manager of stakeholders and develop excellent relationships.
- A leader, confident and assertive, but adaptable and have a can-do attitude to problem solving and directing the wider project teams.
- Commercially astute and able to deal with challenges whilst providing accurate forecasting and reporting on the project performance.
- Accountable for critical aspects of programme delivery, you lead the project team, drive performance and ensure the right asset is delivered to the end user.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- HNC, HND, or degree in electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, construction management or equivalent site experience.
- Excel in a alliancing (collaborative) environment; form, develop and even recover working relationships to an exceptional level, facilitating smooth resolution to issues.
- Strong stakeholder management experience working across multiple critical internal and external stakeholders.
- People Leader and developing and managing high-performing Teams.
- Focussed and driven attitude and revel in a challenging environment, having a passion for excellence, a can-do attitude and delivering benefit for Yorkshire and the Alliance.
- Considerable experience is demonstrated by the successful candidate, having delivered complex programmes of work in a live operational environment with a proven track record.
- Demonstrable experience of leadership, and managing multi-disciplinary teams through the project life-cycle, and experience of managing large workloads of multiple projects concurrently.
- Thorough understanding of schedule management, project controls and work breakdown structures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including the innate ability to simplify and communicate complex information in a non-complex way.
- You’re empathetic, articulate, and, have a proven ability to engage with stakeholders internally and externally.
- Your positive impact develops and maintains strong business relationships helping you understand their needs and recognise opportunities.
- Have a broad and deep level of experience in negotiations and conflict management in a project environment.
- You will be required to travel to different locations across Yorkshire, so a full and valid driving licence is essential.
- You are proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite for various tasks, including project management and communication
You will also benefit from having:
- A recognised qualification in a programme or project management course such as APM and appropriate level of membership of a recognised institution would be desirable.
- Knowledge of process safety and Failure Modes Effect Analysis would be an advantage
- Systems thinker with experience including understanding customer requirements right, first-time, and, outcome focussed.
- Previous experience working as a Senior Project Manager delivering programmes of work.
- Experience of managing projects using multiple methodologies.
