Salary & Benefits:  £33,179 - £39,236 per annum dependent on experience. Benefits include company pension, 25 days annual leave and guaranteed one-off pro-rata’d bonus for remaining financial year

 

This is a permanent position, working full time 37 hours per week between a working window of 8am-6pm Monday to Friday

 

The role is based at Bradford, currently home-working at present

 

What will the role involve? 
 

 

Developer Services works with commercial developers and customers to ensure any new developments have the correct water and wastewater plans in place. You will play a key role within this team, providing a high level of technical advice in relation to the major diversion and requisition of proposed sewerage assets, whilst maintaining the integrity of Yorkshire Water assets and being fully compliant with appropriate guidelines and regulations. You will also be responsible for assessing first time sewerage applications and NRASWA (C3 / C4). You will provide a seamless, informed and consistent customer experience whilst driving improvement in our performance and ensuring we provide exceptional value for money.
 

 

You will be responsible for effectively project managing large sewer diversion and requisition schemes alongside our capital partners. Following receipt of an application, you will be responsible for delivering a smooth customer journey. This will involve representing the customer needs in challenging technical meetings to ensure the best outcome for the customer and the company.
 

 

You will represent Yorkshire Water at high level meetings when required to enable an effective resolution of complex issues and disputes. You will be the first point of contact for developers wishing to escalate any issues that may arise throughout the diversion or requisition process.
 

 

You will forge and maintain excellent working relationships with senior developers, designers, consulting engineers, highway authorities and local authorities to ensure that Yorkshire Water adopts a high specification asset that does not compromise the integrity of existing assets or contradict and regulatory or legislative requirements.
 

 

You are required to provide effective training, support and coaching to the Technicians, Agents and Project Co-ordinator’s in the wider team to ensure an excellent and consistent level of service to customers is achieved and maintained, whilst delivering against challenging targets and Water UK timescales. Across the business you will develop and maintain beneficial working relationships with Legal, Land and Planning, Assets, Network, Policy and Operational teams. You will also represent the business at local, regional and national working groups, meetings and committees such as Water UK, Sewers for Adoption Group, local authorities, highway authorities, etc.
 

 

What skills are we looking for? 


The successful candidate will have an expert understanding of the principles of connecting to the public sewer, alterations proposed to a public sewer, building over a public sewer and diverting a public sewer. You will have excellent technical knowledge in relation to the design and operation of sewerage networks and pump stations and associated assets. You will have an excellent understanding of the technical and legislative requirements to divert and requisition a sewer, and the provision of first-time sewerage. You will also be knowledgeable in regards the latest legislation (Water Industry Act) and guidance (Sewers for Adoption / Code for Adoption) and how this influences the work we deliver within the Sewer Adoption, Diversion and Requisition Team of Developer Services. You will hold a Science based degree, preferably Civil Engineering or similar.
 

 

You will have previous project management experience and have strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills. You will be confident to lead challenging scheme progress meetings with our delivery partners. 
 

 

It is also essential that you have rigorous attention to detail to ensure 'right first-time performance', whilst demonstrating the ability to manage your own workloads within a team environment within stringent timescales.
 

 

You will have excellent customer service skills and be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with a range of key stakeholders. Able to work on your own initiative, you will manage a varied workload and meet challenging timescales. Commitment and flexibility is key, along with the ability to cope under pressure.
 

 

You will have strong IT skills as you will be using a range of Company IT systems and you will have previous experience in using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and Office 365.
 

 

You will be covering the Yorkshire region therefore a full UK driving licence is required for the role.
