SAP BASIS Lead

 

Salary: Negotiable + Pension + 25 days holiday
 
Location: Currently working remotely during Covid & thereafter flexible/hybrid working arrangements including our offices in Bradford.

 

Purpose of the role:

 

To ensure the sustainable & cost-effective provision of On-premise and Cloud based SAP Platforms that support business processes & services through the development and implementation of an architectural blueprint, associated roadmaps and external partner support arrangements for the SAP Centre of Excellence (SAP CoE).  

 

Operating within the SAP CoE, the SAP Platforms Lead will work with the SAP Platform Architect and other SAP Technical and Functional leads to deliver a cohesive SAP Platform strategy. The primary focus of the SAP Platforms Lead will be upon a designated Platform area within the SAP software estate, assisting the Platform Architect in producing strategies, roadmaps, frameworks and standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that exploit current and future technologies to deliver robust and cost-effective solutions for Yorkshire Water.

 

The SAP Platforms Team will have SAP Platform Leads aligned to and responsible for the following areas:
•    Core Platforms
•    Integration
•    User Experience, Mobility & Cloud
•    Solution Manager and Process Improvement (Application Lifecycle Management)


What will the role involve:

 

o    Actively monitor the SAP Roadmaps for technologies within their technology specialism, identifying risks and opportunities arising from these roadmaps and provide recommendations to the SAP Platform Architect, the wider SAP Solutions Team and business Subject Matter Experts


o    Conduct prototyping/proof of concept activities to demonstrate potential new capabilities


o    Ability to influence the SAP roadmap in their technology specialism to benefit Kelda Group


o    Ensure that appropriate standards, patterns and frameworks are established, maintained and adhered to.


o    Develop a network of contacts within external organisations to enable sharing of ideas and best practise


o    Develop and maintain a working knowledge of other SAP technology specialisms to ensure overall designs and architectures are consistent


o    Provide technical expertise to support the application of system fixes, patches, upgrades and decommissioning of SAP Platforms


o    Seek innovative and creative technical solutions to business opportunities and technical challenges, leading the development and implementation of the SAP Platform strategy within their Platform specialism


o    Undertake a Technical Lead role on projects


o    Identify and manage SAP Platform related risks on projects


o    Actively manage the delivery of 3rd Party deliverables 


o    Work with Technology Framework Partners to enhance the services provided by the technology, reduce costs, manage risk and build resilience.


o    Work with the SAP Solutions Functional Leads to develop business process and systems integration knowledge. 


    

What skills are we looking for:

 


o    Proven, solid experience in a similar technical SAP Platform/Solutions role, covering areas such as SAP roadmap, architecture, design, deployment & support.


o    Knowledge & understanding of service continuity planning & IT security. 


o    Proven ability to design and deliver complex SAP solutions across a range of technologies and business scenarios


o    Good all-round SAP applications knowledge to support the application of system fixes, patches, upgrades and decommissioning of SAP Platforms


o    Have been involved with Cloud deployment & migration strategies for SAP


o    Experience of taking a lead on large-scale SAP implementations / upgrades / migrations / conversion project’s.
