Where I’d work:   This role is based at Leeds Valley Park. This role leads an anchored workforce and is required to be on site 4 days per week.

 

Work Type:  This is a permanent opportunity, working full time, 37 hours per week within our working window of 8:00am – 6:00pm, Monday - Friday

Where you fit in:
 

As our Resilience & Response Team Leader (Waste) you will focus and improve on business processes associated with the overall management and operation of our 24/7 desks for Wastewater Networks and Pollution Coordination in Central Control.  This is a key role in the management of our Wastewater Treatment works, networks & pumping stations and their performance through effective measurement, prioritisation, and delivery of initiatives.
 

You will – 

 

  • Manage and coach two teams of 24/7 Remote Asset Optimisers who are responsible for monitoring and analysing telemetry alarm data.
  • Implement strategies to maximise remote interventions, enhancing resilience & reducing callouts in line with Alarm Governance.
  • Develop, Monitor, and report on a range of KPIs and targets to support the Network Optimisers and Pollution Coordination teams. 
  • Manage escalation and ensure that incidents are brought to resolution as quickly as possible.
  • Ensure 24/7 Resilience is maintained across the teams by applying the approved shift principles and protocols.
  • Communicate progress and performance at all levels within the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Create a safe working environment for the Optimisers to fully understand their role and impact on other teams.
  • Manage team performance in line with the companies Talking Performance principles to drive towards creating & maintaining a high performing team.
  • Be responsible for the development and upskilling of Optimisers to ensure that they are fully competent and effective in their daily tasks through coaching and identification of development and training needs.
  • Directly engage with all levels of Clean Water field operations management to build strong relationships and align approaches for support.
  • Liaison with compliance and policy teams to ensure procedural compliance is driven throughout the team.
  • Ensure that robust financial management and commercial awareness form the foundation of all business decisions, aligning local activities with the unit and company plans.
  • Drive and encourage innovation within the team and ensure it is properly prioritised at regional level for evaluation and subsequent implementation.

 

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:
 

The successful candidate will -
 

  • Have excellent leadership skills balanced with analytical and creative abilities.
  • Ideally possess a Management, Engineering or Science qualification or have previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors 
  • Previous experience of managing and leading a team with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets.
  • Be innovative, constantly looking for new ways of working and improving. You will be able to bring to life our core values of outstanding safety management and customer service.
  • Have notable experience of delivering a high standard of customer service within a significant asset-based operation.
  • Be able to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Have previous experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
  • Have technical understanding of Wastewater processes.
  • Have analytical skills and fault diagnosis of production processes.
  •  Be knowledgeable in regards Wastewater above ground assets.
  •  Have previous experience in incident management.
  •  Valid driving licence with no more than 6 points
