We have an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment Advisor to join Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

What we do:

We're not just about turning on the taps and taking away the waste. We're about being part of the community, looking after the environment, and being there when you need us - 24/7, 365 days a year. We're responsible for serving every corner of Yorkshire, and we play a big role in keeping people healthy and happy.

It's an exciting time to join our team, with new laws and investments coming in, and customers expecting more from us. We're looking for people who are passionate about making a difference and want to be part of shaping the future of water in Yorkshire.

Where you fit in:

We're looking for a Recruitment Advisor to help us find the best people for our team, building a diverse and skilled workforce.

As part of our internal resourcing team, you'll work closely with our managers to understand their recruitment needs and provide expert advice on how to find the right candidates. Your goal will be to ensure that we're building a strong employer brand, provide exception level of service to our stakeholders, and attract top talent to Yorkshire Water.

We're currently experiencing a period of massive growth, change, and transformation driven by a substantial investment in the business. This means you'll be working closely with our operational and central business units to grow the business and find the best people - helping us achieve our customer, service delivery, and environmental goals.

Initially, you'll be responsible for recruiting for key roles across all areas to support our growth. Once we've stabilised and returned to normal operations, you'll have the opportunity to form a close partnership with a specific business unit(s), becoming their go-to recruitment expert.

What you'll need to do to succeed in this role

  • Develop and deliver tailored recruitment solutions that meet our business needs and enhance our employer brand.
  • Provide guidance and support to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, empowering them to take ownership of their recruitment responsibilities.
  • Support project work related to our attraction strategy and contribute to the development of innovative recruitment solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the recruitment team to share best practices, showcase successes, and promote good recruitment outcomes.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up to date with the latest trends in attraction, including social media sourcing strategies, recruitment video content, and promoting our internal talent management approach.

The skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Proven track record of delivering high-volume recruitment campaigns from start to finish
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems to streamline the recruitment process – we use SuccessFactors as ours.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and consult with stakeholders at all levels, driving best practice and influencing decision-making
  • Strong knowledge of direct sourcing methods, including LinkedIn, CV search websites, and job boards
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with experience in using innovative sourcing methods to fill hard-to-fill roles – advertising only goes so far, there’s no shying away from LinkedIn project work, networking, market mapping, talent pooling and being innovative.

It's a plus if you have:

  • Subject matter expert knowledge of particular business area – could be through agency or in-house.
  • Experience working with diverse talent, including ex-forces personnel, and a passion for supporting their transition into civilian life.
  • A proven ability to drive diversity and inclusion in recruitment, with a passion for creating a more equal and accessible workplace. This would include:
    • Breaking down barriers and increasing representation in underrepresented areas, such as women in traditionally male-dominated roles or working to make roles more accessible to people with disabilities
    • Developing and implementing inclusive hiring practices that attract and retain a diverse range of talent
    • Collaborating with stakeholders to create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
