Location: Hybrid working, candidates would need to be able to travel across Yorkshire. Head office is currently based in Bradford and moving to Leeds Summer 2026. Candidates are expected to be flexible with their office working days according to the demand of the business.

Where you fit in: 

 

 

The commercial team is a growing team and currently consists of Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors to support the delivery of the AMP 8 Capital Programme.  The programme has doubled in size as a result of the goals set out in AMP 8 and is therefore expanding it’s commercial support function to help deliver the programme. The team works on small and large scale contracts and the successful candidate would be starting off with small scale contracts alongside our team of Quantity Surveyors with a view to running their own contracts throughout the Apprenticeship.  

 

 

Your duties will include but are not limited to: 

 

 

  • As a Quantity Surveying Apprentice you will rotate around programmes working alongside teams and your mentor to develop your understanding and competence in: 
  • Carrying out commercial and contract management across a diverse supply chain.   
  • Ensuring that contracting processes, procedures and governance are complied with.  
  • Developing skills in contract administration for construction contracts.  
  • Monitoring and supporting cost controls, including assessment of interim and final accounts.   
  • Managing contract and contractor performance including escalated issues and disputes.   
  • Being a part of risk management processes.  
  • Being involved in developing and managing both regulated and below threshold procurement activity.  
  • Being able to identify and deliver continuous improvement.  

 

 

What you will study: 

 

 

The successful candidates will study the Level 6 Construction quantity surveyor degree programme delivered by Sheffield Hallam University. This is typically a 5 year programme plus your End Point Assessment. The Apprenticeship is delivered through blended on campus learning along with some self-study from the workplace. What skills & qualifications you will need: 

 

 

  • To hold 5 GCSEs or equivalent Grade 4/C/Pass or above including English & mathematics.  
  • To hold or predicted 3 A-levels at a minimum of a grade C/Pass or above.  
  • To hold or predicted a Business Studies or equivalent qualification at level 2 or above at a grade C/Pass as a minimum  
  • A minimum of 112 UCAS points gathered from qualifications related to the above criteria 
  • A Full UK driving licence with access to your own car for business purposes 
  • Analytical skills 
  • Problem solving  
  • Ability to pay attention to fine details
