Location: West Yorkshire / Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office a week – Bradford – Relocating to Leeds)

 


Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

You’ll play a key part in shaping and evolving our cyber-physical security strategy, ensuring we stay ahead of shifts in regulation, emerging technologies, and an everchanging threat landscape.

By doing so, you’ll help reduce the likelihood of malicious incidents that could impact the environment or the services our customers rely on every day.

As our Principal Cyber – Physical Security Specialist you will:

 

 

  • Lead regulatory compliance and governance by overseeing CAF (C P) submissions, regulatory reporting, and ongoing alignment with industry standards. 
  • Drive cyber-physical risk management and assurance, including threat and horizon scanning, risk assessment processes, internal audits, and development of the CP security audit function. 
  • Provide strategic oversight of cyber-physical security initiatives, acting as project sponsor and maintaining effective long term partnership with the CP SOC. 
  • Promote a strong security culture across the organisation through training, awareness activity, and championing safe and secure working practices. 
  • Strengthen cross functional collaboration, working closely with capital delivery, OT, IT, operations, engineering teams, and supply chain partners to embed security into all areas of the business. 
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with academia, other water companies, cross sector partners, and internal stakeholders to share best practice and enhance organisational capability. 
  • Plan and coordinate key submissions, including Price Review preparation, delivery and ongoing performance monitoring. 

 

 


What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

 

  • A solid understanding of the water industry, its operational environment, and the challenges and opportunities facing the sector today. 
  • In depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape in which Yorkshire Water operates, with the ability to interpret requirements and translate them into practical action. 
  • A strong appreciation of cyber-physical (CP) technologies and how they are applied within the water industry to protect critical systems and infrastructure. 
  • An understanding of the key assets used across the UK water sector both clean and wastewater and the physical processes behind their operation, enabling you to recognise risks, dependencies and opportunities for enhanced resilience.
