Base Location: The role is a flexible hybrid working arrangement, although there is an expectation to visit sites across the Yorkshire region in addition to spending some time working from the site where your team operates in Bradford.

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday within a standard window.

Asset Management (Waste) are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. 

 

The Operational Excellence Data Lead works with the Wastewater Portfolio team to make sure that the operational teams are following the best practices for their work. They look for ways to improve efficiency, performance, and safety to save money and align with other company projects. They use data to identify and make sustainable improvements in the processes.

 

They also help convince colleagues and managers to make changes by showing them the benefits through business cases and analysing the processes. Overall, their job is to make sure everything runs smoothly and effectively.

 

Where you fit in:

 

As our Operational Excellence Data Lead, you will:

 

  • Provide the business with consistent, accurate, and timely information that gives great insight and enables the right choices to be made in support of operational performance.
  • Design and implement reporting framework and governance that delivers one source of the truth.
  • Utilise data that supports and identifies process and efficiency improvements, ways of working and future system improvements.
  • Facilitate workshops to enable employees to understand problems, identify opportunities, and introduce continuous improvement methods through data led insight.
  • Develop and assure consistency and accuracy of process documentation and support in producing initiative reporting.
  • Host, facilitate and support performance hubs across the OE Framework as required.
  • Review identified opportunities to understand and define the impact and benefits and work with OE and Ww management community prioritise and deliver these.
  • Track the impact of OE initiatives, implement new performance measures and identify any gaps in the existing measures.
  • Key point of contact of Data expertise, providing process and data advice and support as necessary
  • Work with IT, Enterprise Change and YW Strategic Programmes where required to implement system changes and support with delivery of initiatives.

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

  • Able to interpret, analyse and present large volumes of data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Highly numerate and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An understanding of End-to-End systems and structures, as well as the up & down stream impacts of Change.
  • Able to work on simultaneous projects and manage own time.
  • Experience of delivering and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels across the business, including senior leaders and directors.
  • Be able to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team against tight deadlines under own initiative.
  • Excellent IT skills especially in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrates a strong customer experience ethos.
  • Resilience and readiness to deliver change.

 

You will also benefit from having:

 

  • Knowledge and previous experience with application of continuous improvement methodology, such as Lean; Six Sigma; Systems Thinking, to deliver process improvements.
  • Qualification relating to continuous improvement methodology.
  • Previous experience gained within the water industry.
  • Previous experience in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of Wastewater processes & YW’s regulatory commitments
  • Experience using SAP 4, RTS, Odyssey, Power BI
