Location: Bradford / Hybrid Working (2-3 days office a week – Bradford)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Customer Field Services team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
We’re looking for a Network Escapes Team Leader to play a vital role in delivering Yorkshire Water’s performance commitments for sewer flooding in AMP8. You’ll lead a team of Network Escape Technicians, ensuring regulatory compliance with Ofwat guidance and maintaining high levels of assurance across our ODI processes. Working closely with the Network Escapes Manager and other stakeholders, you’ll drive best practices, manage risks, and support the implementation of our sewer flooding strategy through tactical interventions and continuous improvement.
In this role, you’ll provide expert guidance on regulatory requirements, monitor changes in legislation, and ensure our reporting framework delivers accurate and reliable data. You’ll identify coaching needs, support team development through performance management, and ensure learning is shared across the business. By understanding root causes and trends, you’ll help shape strategic decisions that improve performance and prevent repeat incidents—making a real impact for our customers and the environment.
Where you fit in:
As our Network Escapes Team Leader you will
- Experience in delivering business targets through leadership positions.
- Experience in regulatory compliance within a technical or highly regulated environment
- Ability to acquire, understand and interpret information, both technical and financial
- Ability to analyse, interpret and feed forward operational performance data and network failure scenarios
- Proven planning ability - identifying priorities and actions to assist in delivering results
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Proven leadership and performance management skills, with the ability to embed company values and behaviours across teams.
- Flexible and results-driven, with a progressive mindset and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
- Experienced in managing change and influencing positive culture and behaviours within operational teams.
- Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills at both operational and management levels.
- Sector experience in water, wastewater, utilities, or manufacturing, with a solid understanding of relevant regulations.
- Skilled in interpreting KPI data and using insights to anticipate issues and drive performance.
- Technically proficient in IT systems including Odyssey, SAP, ICE, and Microsoft applications.
- Holds a full valid UK driving licence and demonstrates commitment to safety and compliance.
You will also benefit from having:
- Ability to become a subject matter expert on sewer flooding guidance and regulatory requirements, supporting compliance and performance.
- Skilled in using data to anticipate issues, identify opportunities, and drive delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Experience in maintaining robust reporting frameworks and governance processes to ensure data accuracy and insight sharing.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to spot trends, generate strategic insights, and support continuous improvement across the team.
