Location: Bradford/ Hybrid Working (a mix of office and home working)
Work type: Permanent. Working full time 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between the working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.

Developer Services works with commercial developers and customers to ensure any new developments have the correct water and wastewater plans. It plays a key role in improving the developer experience whilst growing our business and influencing future development across the Yorkshire region.
Where you fit in:
As Manager of Developer Services you `will support the long-term vision and strategy of both Developer Services and Yorkshire Water. You will ensure that strategic risks and growth opportunities in relation to Developer Services are identified and plans are put in place to manage the risks and maximise growth opportunities over the medium to long term.
You will provide leadership to Developer Services this encompasses managing up to 6 direct reports and managing indirectly up to 250 people including our delivery partner. You will adopt a matrix management approach to other areas, supporting the delivery of the PR24 Strategy to meet regulatory and stakeholder requirements (both internal and external) – identifying opportunities for innovation, new ways of working and partnership opportunities.
You will drive improvements in customer experience, efficiency, productivity, health safety & environment. Working collaboratively with Directors, Senior Leaders, People Leaders, and colleagues from across Yorkshire Water, Service Partners, and key external partner organisations such as Ofwat, Water UK, Local Authorities, Home Builders Federation (Developers) and Independent Connection Providers (SLP’s/NAV’s) to shape and bring the Developer Services Strategy and Transformation Plan to life. By doing so, you and your team enable development and economic growth across the Yorkshire region.
What skills and qualifications you will need:
- Previous experience of working in a commercial environment and demonstrating successful deployment of strategies within a business and of managing external contractors to deliver to time, cost, and quality
- Experience of working with regulatory bodies and committees
- Proficient in negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies
- Pro-active style and capacity for influencing in a complex, challenging environment across a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to produce, and succeed with, compelling investment business cases
- Working knowledge both water and wastewater networks, construction techniques and processes
- Sound knowledge of the Water Industry Act and all relevant legislation (e.g. Code for Adoption and Building Acts).
- Ability to think technically and strategically, and communicate effectively, with appreciation of investment, regulation, and legislation
- Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with regulatory requirements and market demands
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management to ensure robust financial performance and efficiency
- Strong ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
- Skills in managing emergencies and ensuring continuity of service during disruptions
- Understanding of sustainable practices and initiatives to promote environmental responsibility
- Focused on improving customer satisfaction and addressing community needs
- Able to think laterally and creatively – to see new opportunities
We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 2 days in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
