IT Project Manager 

 

Salary: £35,432 to £44,290 + pension + 25 days holiday
 
Location: Working from home during Covid & thereafter flexible/hybrid working arrangements including our Bradford offices

 

Purpose of the role:

 

The Project Manager will manage one or more projects in within a designated portfolio/suite of work in Tec Change Delivery. The role will work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to drive projects delivering against agreed Yorkshire Water targets. The PM will ensure that projects of work are delivered to scope, time, cost and quality; that project risks are managed in line with business targets. The focus will be delivering change within software applications projects.


 

What will the role involve:

 

Accountable for day-to-day delivery, management, coordination and control of assigned projects including development of the Project Definition Document (PDD), including scope, goals and deliverables, with support of business owners. 

 

Responsible for scoping and creating Project Management Plans (PMP) 

 

Responsible for leading all resources assigned to the project, setting clear objectives and managing performance on a project basis. Responsible for providing feedback on project performance to project boards as appropriate. 

 

Accountable for accurate forecasting and reporting of key project information, updating any agreed project management reports and documentation.
Responsible for giving direction to and leading IT projects managers who are providing specific IT deliverables into projects or programmes 

 

Ensuring that robust financial management and commercial awareness form the foundation of all business decisions. 

 

Coordination of project activity and inputs being done by multiple people across assigned projects. 

 

Support for Business Owners and Business Change Managers in ensuring clear BAU activities (including embedding the resultant outputs, deliverables, benefits) are identified successfully at project definition.

 

Own the identification, quantifying, tracking and reporting on the latest benefits forecast and realisation against the plan up to the point of handover to BAU. 

 

Co-ordinates the set-up of relevant project boards and works with the project sponsor to ensure the operation of effective governance. 

 


What skills are we looking for:

 

Experience and knowledge of project implementation and cultural change 

 

Experience of delivering projects to time, scope and cost 

 

Experience of managing resources in a project environment 

 

Experience of delivering change 

 

Ideally will have previous experience of project managing applications software projects

 

APM, Prince 2 or holding equivalent project management qualification.
