Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday. 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join the Corporate Functions  at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Corporate Functions are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.  

 

Our corporate functions play a crucial role in enabling wider business performance, accounting for approximately 30% of the total operating cost across the business and managing significant annual capital expenditures., This function require dedicated care and support from their respective Executive leaders. We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to control the transition of accountabilities between the Group Financial Controller and the Commercial and Regulatory team. 

 

This focused financial leadership support is essential for the effective delivery of Yorkshire Water's strategy. This support will ensure that functional strategies are considered across the business and enables the prioritisation of enterprise value. By providing dedicated finance support, the role will facilitate consistent process and controls governance.

As our Finance Business Partner you will

 

  • Show expertise in day-to-day financial running of the Corporate Functions, including developing strategies to deliver more value per £ incurred.
  • Have the ability to make decisions that will optimising outcomes that balance regulatory, affordability, and shareholder needs.
  • Have proven experience in leading and influencing functional colleagues, including developing the finance function in line with Finance Modernisation principles.
  • Be accountable for continuous and controlled improvement of processes.
  • Support the delivery of commitments through active participation and leadership whilst striving for the correct outcomes and improvement
  • Look beyond immediate needs to ensure a comprehensive business and AMP view, actively seeking innovative internal and external ways of working.
  • Ensure we are fully compliant and in control,  by supporting the reliability and presentation of the financial statements to the Grou Financial Controller .

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

  • A professional accounting qualification 
  • At least 2 years of experience partnering with complex organizations or working within complex business models.
  • Confidence to challenging existing ways of working to deliver better outcomes.
  • To keep up to date with  financial and non-financial data to develop insights that support service delivery outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities effectively, demonstrating success in high-pressure environments.
