We’re looking for a talented Finance Business Partner Support Data Analyst to play a key role within our Retail Finance function. In this dynamic role, you’ll partner closely with the Finance Business Partner for our Corporate Functions including People, Health & Safety, Finance, Technology and Corporate Affairs delivering high quality analysis, insight and reporting that truly drives decision making. You’ll work hand in hand with our central Accounting & Control team, transforming complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that help budget owners understand performance and manage costs effectively.
Where you fit in:
As our Finance Business Support Data Analyst you will:
- Play a key role in month-end, partnering with the Accounting & Control team to ensure a smooth, accurate close.
- Deliver sharp, timely variance analysis that helps leaders understand what’s driving performance.
- Deep dive into costs to uncover trends, opportunities and risks working closely with the FBP to influence better decision making.
- Create clear, compelling reporting packs and presentations that bring the numbers to life for leadership and budget owners.
- Join budget meetings as a trusted voice, offering insight, challenge and support to guide effective cost management.
- Review financial ledgers with precision, ensuring entries are accurate, compliant and correctly allocated and collaborating with Accounting & Control team to improve processes where needed.
- Develop and enhance dashboards and reporting tools, improving visibility and empowering stakeholders with meaningful, easy to use data.
- Champion strong governance, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across Corporate Functions and wider Finance teams becoming a go to partner for insight, support and problem solving.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Part qualified or qualified by experience, with a solid grounding in accounting principles. A collaborative mindset, with the flexibility to work effectively as part of a supportive, high performing team.
- The ability to build strong networks, nurturing relationships both inside and outside Finance to get the best outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex financial information into clear, simple messages for non finance audiences.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, paired with great attention to detail.
- Experience using financial systems and reporting tools (e.g. SAP, BI Reporting) to produce high quality insight.
- Advanced Excel skills, with the confidence to manipulate and interpret data efficiently.
- A strong understanding of business processes and financial systems, enabling you to spot issues, propose improvements and add real value.
