Location: Bradford BD6 - Midway / Hybrid Working (home and office working) and a requirement to travel across the Yorkshire region.

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Wastewater Environmental Permit Compliance Manager to lead the Environmental Permit Compliance (EPC) Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment and changing expectations from customers means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry.  Our Environmental Permit Compliance (EPC) team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. 

 

Wastewater has over 3,800 environmental permits varying in complexity from discharge permits to our more complex Industrial Emission Directive (IED) permits, as well as operating under multiple separate environmental regulations.

 

Where you fit in!

 

As our Wastewater Environmental Permitting Compliance Manager you will:

  • Lead the Environmental Permit Compliance (EPC) team to deliver team outputs and service standards
  • Have overarching responsibility for the effective organisation and facilitation of Environment Agency (EA) Compliance Assessment Report (CAR) audits across Wastewater, ensuring the end to end process is measured, optimised and embedded
  • Agreeing with Operational teams the support, partnership and assurance services the EPC team will deliver and set the framework for ongoing delivery
  • Regular liaison with the EA to maintain a view of performance and improvement activity
  • Working with wastewater colleagues and legal to collate and respond  Regulation 61 requests and own the permit breach challenge processes
  • Liaise with wider stakeholder teams to ensure new permits requirements, or variations, are communicated and effectively implemented
  • Support on the development of training, awareness and competency programmes for operating and maintaining wastewater compliance

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

  • Experience working in Wastewater with process understanding
  • Operating within a regulated industry or framework, as well as regulator liaison
  • Good understanding of environmental permitting regulations and other legal requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaborative working
  • Processes development, ownership and improvement
  • Adept communication, presentations and meeting management skills
  • People leadership experience
  • Full UK Drivers Licence (No more than 6 points)
