We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Workshop Manager to join the Supply Chain and Logistics Function at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

What will the role involve?
As part of the expansion of our Supply Chain & Logistics function, we are looking of a highly experienced workshop professional to support in the development and delivery of a multi skilled workshop from the ground up.
When we say from the ground up, we mean exactly that!
The successful candidate will work with the Project Lead to source equipment, recruit a new multi-skilled team, design workshop layout and workflow processes through our corporate systems, develop and document safe working procedures for all activities and develop training plans to align with activities.
This is a once in a career opportunity and this role is instrumental to the delivery of this key new activity within Yorkshire Water.
Once delivered this role will take over the day to running of the multi-skilled function to ensure smooth operation and work with our continuous improvement team to develop and embed new processes to fit within the wider structure. Targets will need to be developed for SLA’s and KPI’s for the performance of this key function.
Although the primary activity will be focused on a pumping equipment, the function will deliver a broad scope of services and the ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience to draw upon. Activities will be mechanical & electrical repair and overhaul, machining, fabrication and diesel overhaul and repair.

The Engineering Workshop Manager will focus on three key areas, some of the key responsibilities are outlined below:
Engineering Services - Develop and lead the implementation of this new activity and promote industry best practice. Ensuring the correct accreditations are achieved to comply with legislation. ISO, AtEX & UKAS
Driving Productivity - Lead internal and external stakeholder management in respect of construction productivity performance and drive improvement. Understand and coordinate industry best practice for measuring and utilising productivity data to drive down cycle times and reduce waste.
Driving Cultural Change - Prepare and deliver programmes of culture change in performance improvement towards improvement within day-to-day business. Drive a culture of collaboration within both Yorkshire Water and the partners to drive down waste and improve cycle time performance. Drive a culture within the supply chain which embraces and shares innovation for the good of the overall programme.
What skills are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a complex engineering environment and have extensive experience in this field.
A confident communicator, you will be confident in building up effective working relationships with a range of key internal and external stakeholders.
Ideally you will hold an Engineering Degree or equivalent and have a proven track record and experience in this discipline.
You will have demonstrable experience of what good looks like and the ability to show how and why it works.
