Location: This role will initially be based in Bradford (2 days in the office a week with hybrid working) but we’re moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future.

 


Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

We are currently looking for a Distribution Maintenance Planner within Distribution Maintenance to assist the business and directly contribute to providing clean and safe drinking water. A key measure of this performance commitment is the Drinking Water Quality Contacts measure. Our Distribution Maintenance Planner will add real value with their distribution knowledge and experience, facilitating the undertaking of a specialised activity on the network. Your skill set will also help us to establish best working practices to optimise our performance, being able to achieve the reduction of water quality contacts we receive as a business.

 


We have highlighted the top 200 DMAs by number of water quality contacts received. This is a real opportunity to directly contribute to one of our main performance commitments, playing a pivotal role in assisting the business outperform. You will be working in a variety of areas, including but not limited to; planning, risk mitigation, enabling works, logging, logistics and resource management.

 

 


Where you fit in!

 

 


As our Distributions Maintenance Planner you will;

 


•    Be responsible for the logistics and resource planning for flushing teams and oversee localised end FH flushing programme


•    Mitigate and plan all work including WAND, warning letters, blasting and TMA


•    Undertake data collection and inputting and co-ordinate in zone surveys


•    Plan pre and post logger deployment, balanced against other activities


•    Organise /facilitate changes to plans or resources when unforeseen issues arise, informing and communicating with relevant parties of all planned work including waste, control etc


•    Plan in out of hours work and all relevant mitigation and contingencies


•    Use Advantex to schedule work to technicians


•    Effectively schedule cyclical hydrant flushes to known timescales


•    Plan and schedule time for air valve checks

 

 


What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

 


As our Distribution Maintenance Planner, you will be required communicate effectively and frequently with our Planning Engineers on work levels, using Excel for the works tracker and Advantex to schedule work to teams. You will also:

 


•    Have extensive clean water distribution knowledge, with previous experience in logistics and resource management


•    Have experience of CMEX and Customer Service


•    Understand the mitigation process for undertaking planned work on the water network and all key stakeholders interests


•    Manage team training, holidays, and resource levels effectively


•    Demonstrate excellent Excel skills to track and record progress of work

 

 


You will also benefit from having:

 


•    Understand DOMS process


•    Be competent or familiar with the EDMS, Odyssey, SAP Production and Lotus Notes software


•    Understand or have previous experience with Hydraulic principles


•    Understand the TMA process


•    Knowledge of WAND process
