Location: Bradford/Hybrid Working - a mix of working from home and in the office, when you need to be there for meetings or collaborative working. This is typically 3 x days per week working in the office in Bradford.
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Lead to join the Central Control team at Yorkshire Water.

Where you fit in:
As our Continuous Improvement Lead you will identify, own and exploit Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities within Central Control.
You will support the enabling and embedding of the above ground maintenance and operational process’, standard operating procedures and technology with a strong focus on the cultural shift required to be more planned and proactive in our approach to maintenance both from an operational and MEICA perspective.
You will take a lead on CI initiatives to design, communicate and embed sustainable improvements through application of CI methodology, ensuring the outcome maximises gains in both efficiency & effectiveness of processes.
You will articulate and influence the need for change with colleagues and senior managers through business cases and process diagnostics to demonstrate opportunities and associated benefits.
Some key role responsibilities include the following –
- Work with Triage, Planning & Scheduling Manager to set up and embed a CI Framework within Central Control to allow improvement opportunities to be identified by all colleagues and be recorded, tracked, and escalated as required to maximise performance against objectives
- Apply a data driven decision approach to identify new and innovative ways of working.
- Lead CI initiatives to realise benefits using CI methodology to design, communicate and embed sustainable process improvements, utilising colleague subject matter experts to shape and inform
- Facilitate process improvement workshops and forums
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Knowledge and previous experience of continuous improvement methodology, such as Lean; Six Sigma; Systems Thinking
- Previous experience of delivering and embedding change
- Previous experience of Triage, Planning and scheduling of above ground assets
- Able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours and has the resilience and determination to deliver change
- Demonstrates a strong customer experience ethos
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels across the business, including senior leaders and directors
- Highly numerate and has strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Able to present data & articulate business cases in a clear and concise manner
- Coaching skills that are adaptable to different abilities and learning styles
- Able to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
- Able to work independently and as part of a team against tight deadlines under own initiative
- Excellent IT skills especially in the use of Microsoft Office applications
