Location: This role will initially be based in Bradford but we’re moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future where we adopt Hybrid Working (2-3 office days a week – Bradford / Leeds).
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Reporting to the Environmental Reporting Manager, the Compliance Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of environmental compliance data and associated reporting. The role involves collating data from multiple corporate systems and producing regulatory reports, including pollution reports.
You will be responsible for the accurate interpretation of corporate data sourced from systems such as SAP, SDP, RTS and PI DataLink, supporting regulatory requirements including EDM, U_MON, DWF, retrospective reporting and wider compliance reporting. The role also supports EIR data submissions, CAR form data requests, and the preparation of 14 day Schedule 5 Pollution Incident Reports.

As our Compliance Data Analyst you will bring;
• Report Writing and Data Assessments.
• Analyse and assure wastewater compliance data, including permits, PFF, storm overflows, storm tanks and emergency overflows, to support accurate annual submissions, regulatory responses, EIR requests and PC reporting.
• Interpret complex datasets to identify risks and anomalies, including historic spill data, PMA performance and network discrepancies, applying hydraulic principles where required.
• Own data quality and completeness, proactively identifying data issues and potential pollutions, raising quality flags, validating systems feeding the EDM model, and maintaining a clear audit trail.
• Access, validate and present data from corporate and external systems, including SAP, SAP/WMS2, Odyssey, EDMS Asset Inventory, RTS, ROD, Storm Harvester, Palette and Microsoft Office tools.
• Produce clear, accurate compliance and management reporting, translating data into actionable insight for operational teams, senior leaders and regulators.
• Lead investigations and escalations, coordinating with Performance Assurance, Storm Overflow Engineers and operational teams, and owning issues through to resolution.
• Build strong working relationships across the business, working collaboratively with Operations, Asset Management, Data Maintenance, Customer Billing and Data Science teams.
• Work independently with strong attention to detail, managing priorities under pressure, supporting multiple areas flexibly, and maintaining a strong customer and regulatory focus.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
• Strong understanding of wastewater systems and service delivery, with the ability to assess how data, compliance activity and operational decisions impact customers, the environment and wider network performance.
• Proven analytical capability, including a strong track record of interpreting, compiling and analysing complex datasets to support effective compliance monitoring and decision‑making.
• High level of proficiency in corporate and analytical systems, including Yorkshire Water systems such as SAP, AI2, Odyssey, Outlook, and Microsoft Office applications—particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to clearly explain data‑driven insights to a range of audiences, influence outcomes, and support informed decision‑making at both operational and strategic levels.
• Strong customer‑focused mindset, demonstrating empathy, professionalism and the ability to balance detailed compliance activity with an understanding of the wider impact on customers and service delivery.
• Effective self‑management and decision‑making skills, with the ability to work on own initiative, prioritise competing demands, manage time effectively and deliver high‑quality outputs to challenging timescales.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, operating as a collaborative team player who values colleagues’ input while also able to negotiate and influence with internal and external stakeholders.
• High levels of diligence, resilience and attention to detail, showing flexibility, commitment and calm judgement when working under pressure in a high‑accountability compliance environment.
