Salary & Benefits(4b): £37,394 - £46,743 + pension/bonus + 25 days holiday and 1 wellness day per annum
Location: Buttershaw Bradford / Hybrid (average of 1 office day per week)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

We currently have an opportunity for a Business Analyst, to carry out business analysis activities on one or more transformational business change initiatives across the Yorkshire Water portfolio. This will include working with key stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document all types of requirements in line with practice procedures, and methodologies to define acceptance criteria and support benefits realisation.
Key to this role is to possess an inquisitive, questioning nature; to be able to prove and develop a deep understanding of business processes, business operating models and behaviours, identify opportunities creating an environment for delivering effective and sustainable change.

Where you fit in:
As our Business Analyst you will:

Lead business analysis activities on multiple change initiatives, delivering requirements specification capable of being used to develop IT based services (bespoke software solutions, third party products and cloud-based solutions)

Translate business needs into specific requirements including UI design; Data models; business procedural changes and interface designs.

Ensure thorough use of the Requirements Engineering model including elicitation, analysis, validation, documentation, and traceability of requirements.

Develop AS-IS and TO-BE business process models using defined standards and use gap analysis to support delivery of any transition plans needed to reach the target situation.

Ensure that User Acceptance Testing takes place for all deliverables and support any associated testing activities.

Ability to collect, evaluate and interpret information from multiple sources to identify and differentiate real user needs.

Strong analytical and reasoning abilities

Ability to develop and maintain effective internal/external relationships at different levels within the organisation.

Some knowledge of application technologies and how best to exploit their use for business benefit.

Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic and changing environment.

Strong organisation skills

Working towards a professional qualification in Business Analysis (e.g., BCS Business Analysis certification/Diplomas and relevant Agile qualifications)
You will also benefit from having:

Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities sectors.

Professional qualification in Business Analysis (e.g., BCS Business Analysis certification/Diplomas, Lean, Six Sigma)

Experience of working with both Agile and Waterfall practices and working to the project lifecycle; alignment, definition, design, implementation and realisation.
We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 1 day in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
