Location: Bradford / hybrid working (2 to 3 office days a week) ** pending office move to Leeds (LS10) from summer 2026 **

In AMP8 Asset Delivery will deliver a multi-billion pound programme of capital investment across YW’s clean and wastewater assets. The Capital Programme is growing by over 50% as we move into AMP8.
The Asset Investment Technician role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of Delivery, Engineering and PMO activities. This role involves providing comprehensive administrative support to the programme teams, including logistical support.
This role requires a proactive individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to achieve prescribed outcomes.
Where you fit in:
As our Asset Investment Technician you will;
- Provide information and support to enable the effective management of the programme and play a key role in supporting project managers and asset planning in the delivery of capital programme:
- Support the creation of & monitoring the capital programme through monthly reporting and analysis of key financial and non-financial data performance
- Challenge the solutions promoted into the programme by Asset Planning
- Providing data on sub programmes to ensure visibility of programme opportunities & risks - sub-programmes to maintain visibility of programme opportunities and risks. Ensure that this information is effectively communicated to wider teams to support proactive decision making.
- Undertake affordability approvals on GMS (SAP) of delivery projects and offer support and challenge at approval meetings.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Good communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues in a straight forward manner to colleagues at all levels in the organisation.
- You will be highly numerate and be a data orientated person, with an eye for detail who understand the importance of accurate data.
- You will show good attention to detail and be able to present data and management information in a visually appealing and informative way tailored to customer groups.
- You will possess effective organisational and time management skills
- You will be comfortable working in a team environment and confident of building effective working relationships
- Experience of compiling, assessing, interpretating and communicating data.
- Ability to present data in a visually appealing and informative way tailored to customer groups.
- Experience of using and extracting data from corporate software systems.
- Have advanced Excel skills, with ability to create charts, pivot tables and utilise formulas to solve problems.
You will also benefit from having:
- Previous experience in a projects/engineering and / or regulated environment.
- Previous experience gained within the water or waste water sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
- Experience of programme and project management/administration, working within a structured project management framework.
- Experience of SAP
- Experience in using Office 365
- Experience of working in the Water Industry or for a regulated company
