Salary & Benefits: £25,910 to £31,464 depending on experience; up to 10% pension + annual bonus + retail savings schemes + online GP access + life assurance cover + free on-site parking + 25 days holiday + 1 wellbeing day + bank holidays

Location: Buttershaw Bradford / Hybrid Working (1 office day a week – Bradford)

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Application Support Assistant to join the tech function at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping us to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Application Support Assistant role ensures the maintenance of Yorkshire Water's application services are based upon customer centric principles and maintain / enhance the customer experience.

 

Working as part of a team, triaging incidents that arise from application failures, also promoting continuous improvement for the applications that we look after and maintain, attending change board meetings to present change requests for any changes that you will be making to the application.

 

Most of our applications are bespoke to Yorkshire Water however there is more industry recognised applications now coming into Yorkshire Water, so training in the form of shadowing is provided, the ability to adapt to new upcoming applications is a must, the right candidate needs to have an analytical mindset and a problem-solving attitude towards work. This role is not part of a service desk this role is a support function for the wider business. We thrive on teamwork.

 

Deep analysis of incidents is required and coding queries mainly SQL and C# based, this is a great role to learn and grow in the world of Applications.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • ITIL foundation or ITIL aware (Incident, Problem, Change, Service Transition/Acceptance)
  • Coding skills mainly SQL and C#
  • Power Shell and UI experience
  • Experience within a Service Management environment
  • SharePoint and Knowledge base experience
  • Experience working in an agile environment.

  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex issues into a readable format.

 

We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 1 day in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
