We have an exciting opportunity for a Acoustic Logger Technician to join the Service Delivery Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Yorkshire Water have a fleet of 32,000 acoustic loggers, these are used to help drive operational efficiency in the leakage team, by pinpointing likely locations of leaks.

 

The role of the Acoustic Logger Technician is to ensure the acoustic logger fleet is located in areas of need and ensure data availability and operability, which allows for ongoing efficiencies in leakage find activities. Maintenance of the devices includes, ensuring equipment is correctly deployed on the network and records of asset location are updated. The devices have connected to the telecommunications network, the devices don't have any error codes and are correctly working, spurious/anomaly data is interrogated to ensure actionable insight is sustained. 

 

Where you fit in:

 

As our Acoustic Logger Technician you will

 

  • Take ownership of allocated Acoustic logging area to ensure delivery of excellent customer service, in line with the company vision.
  • Ensure all targets are met through individual time management and effective utilisation of contractual flexible working procedures and hours of work.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of logger sweeps and location notes to agreed standards.
  • Carry out DMA sweeps when scheduled.
  • Carry out ad hoc visits as required, e.g. reattachments and replacements of loggers.
  • Identify and replace damaged loggers where possible and in line with trained level of capability.
  • Identify street furniture defects and undertake remedial action as appropriate.

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

  • Ability to use and act upon own initiative to solve and overcome problems/issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to understand and use corporate systems and IT applications.
  • Full clean driving licence (this role will be required to travel throughout Yorkshire)
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Experience of working independently and manage own workload.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Experience of supporting and embedding change to influence the and drive the right culture and behaviours.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships.

 

You will also benefit from having:

 

  • Intermediate IT skills
  • A basic understanding of a water distribution network.
  • Experience of delivering against challenging business targets.
