Location: We are currently looking to recruit a Data Lead to work within our Bioresources business area, at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you? This role is a flexible hybrid working arrangement with an expectation that some time will be spent working from the site where the team operates at our Knostrop WWTW in Leeds. As part of the role, you may be required to travel to different Yorkshire Water locations, ideally a full valid UK driving licence would be desirable.

 

Work type: Permanent. You’ll be working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.

As our Data Lead you will identify, embed, and improve generation through the utilisation and analysis of data to enable the delivery of maintenance excellence.

Supports the team and wider Bio Resource teams to embed a data driven & continuous Improvement culture in our DNA.

 

Where you fit in:

 

As our Data Lead you will be the single point of contact for the department to obtain meaningful data in a consistent format which identifies performance in full through all Bio Resources processes.

 

  • Provides analysis of the story, highlights areas where performance is a concern, in which areas, identifies actions to be taken and underlying root causes.
  • Provides consistent interpretation of data and presents in a way that is easily understood by the business.
  • Interpret data and turn it into information which can offer ways to improve the department and its processes.
  • Oversee and conduct the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions.
  • Interpret reports and condense into meaningful improvements from data driven resources.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the policies, procedures and business processes employed within Bio Resources.
  • Identify new and innovative ways of working which lead to improved performance of Bio Resources processes and systems.
  • Providing process and data advice and support to the Bio Resources teams as necessary.
  • Develop and assure consistency and accuracy of process documentation and adherence.
  • Work with other YW departments to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner and influencing of company processes and management systems.

  • Work with stakeholders to understand data shortfalls, working with the team to rectify and enhance the shortfalls we have in data ability/availability.
  • Work as part of the team to deliver excellent performance by understanding how their individual performance links into achieving the team’s wider objectives.
  • Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work and ensure compliance with the YW Safety Policy.
  • Demonstrate relentless drive, energy, and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for YW that rigorously achieves our vision.

 

What key skills, knowledge, training, qualifications, and experience are required?

 

Essential:

 

  • Experience of analysing large volumes of data and interpreting trends and themes
  • Experience creating/developing power bi reports.
  • Experience of delivering data sets that lead into process changes or improvements.
  • Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
  • Experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
  • Experience of SAP job management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and can engage effectively at all levels.
  • Understanding of Bio Resources particularly generation of CHP's, wind turbines and hydroelectric assets and how improvements from data can increase outputs.
  • Ability to interpret service reports and flag risks across the business and department with repeat failures.
  • Experience of understanding where your role fits within a business plan and then developing ways to deliver the outputs.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Experience of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets.
  • Previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or above) certified.
  • Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process, or manufacturing industry sectors.
  • Experience of change management.
  • Previous work within a maintenance activity focused team.
  • Experience of planning and scheduling work activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure to challenging deadlines.
