Salary: Up to £42,230 (depending on experience) + 25 days hols + 8 BH + Pension

Location: Livingstone House, Leeds with home working currently due to Covid 19

 

 

 

 

Purpose of the role

Yorkshire Water are currently recruiting a Colleague Engagement Advisor to support with the development and implementation of colleague engagement initiatives aligned to the Wastewater people strategy and annual delivery plans.  Working across the Wastewater leadership team and all management tiers and with the HR business Partners to help create, implement, and evaluate colleague engagement activities and processes to help drive a positive colleague experience culture, feel engaged with their team and our vision, want to go the extra mile and want to build their future with us

 

 

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Some of the key responsibilities you will have will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Acts as a Coach and Consultant to support the Senior Leadership Teams in the establishing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on a range of colleague engagement and colleague satisfaction interventions
  • Act as a source of expertise on colleague and team engagement and provide support, assistance and advice to colleagues and people leaders
  • Supports on the co-ordination and facilitation of colleague engagement events
  • Develop resources and communications to support colleague engagement interventions
  • Support and coach people leaders in order to build trust, commitment and credibility with colleagues
  • The “go to” person for colleague communication and engagement, working with all stakeholders at all levels to build an understanding of how the business operates, to ensure appropriate engagement and stakeholder plans are in place
  • Review colleague engagement levels using the Peakon survey outcomes for Wastewater, working with managers to review and analyse the data to help identify priority areas of focus and establish individual, functional and high level action plans with the ability to review, report and monitor progress.
  • Help create a framework for the management of the Peakon Survey action plans and implementation
  • Support the creation and implementation of a colleague engagement plan across the Wastewater function that is aligned to the Wastewater strategy covering key areas such as communication and engagement, wellbeing, fun and lifestyle and celebrating success through awards and recognition
  • Support the tier 2 business leaders and HR Business Partners with the delivery and implementation of local people strategy initiatives aligned to business priorities and needs.
  • Help create and implement a Wastewater induction process to help on-board new starters across the department in alignment with the corporate induction process.
  • Work closely with managers and the HR Business Partners to ensure resource and support is in place to successfully execute plans
  • Work with managers and HR Business Partners to establish and manage Waste Water recognition activities and awards to promote high performance and behaviours aligned to our Big Ambition
  • Help establish and measure colleague experience metrics aligned to the WW People Strategy and colleague engagement initiatives
  • Support the design, organisation and facilitation of colleague and manager engagement meetings, events and sessions (virtual and face to face)
  • Build and maintain relationships with function areas to affect mutual end to end understanding of key people deliverables and processes.

 

 

 

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

 

Essential

  • You will be hugely passionate about people, an advocate of continuous improvement and have a good understanding of colleague engagement, motivation and morale
  • Ability to engage with all levels of the business in a credible manner to help ensure the desired delivery of the WW People Strategy and colleague engagement plans
  • Ability to independently and autonomously to help develop solutions within a broader strategic framework
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, peers, managers, and leaders
  • Develops commercial awareness through both on-the-job experience and interaction with other functions, both individually and within your team (where applicable)
  • An affable confident person with an ability to inspire and arouse passion for delivering a great communication and engagement colleague experience
  • Understands what great communications and engagement looks like with a strong and consistent track record in achieving positive outcomes in this.
  • Experienced in delivering excellent stakeholder communications and engagement activities, right from planning through to execution.
  • Takes an outcomes-based approach to developing communications and engagement activities. 
  • A track record of being a trusted advisor for senior leaders when it comes to internal engagement and communications
  • Thorough understanding of how the business works and its key stakeholders and influencers to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Experience in developing a stakeholder focused programme that supports the goals and objectives of the business
  • Ability to identify and develop a strong communications narrative that supports and enhances our purpose, ambition and behaviours
  • Ability to analyse and assess colleague engagement data
  • Good IT experience (PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.)
  • Proven track record of developing, driving, and delivering against implementation plans
  • Ability to support and engage others with the delivery of change
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Be creative and think outside the box
  • Excellent administration, coordination, and organisational skills

 

 

 

 

Desirable

  • Experience or qualification in HR, OD, Change
  • Awareness and knowledge of Colleague Engagement Surveys, Tools and Action Planning
  • Implementation/Change management experience
  • An interest in colleague well-being, development, and behaviour change
  • Event coordination, planning and management
  • Previous experience gained within the water or waste water sectors or within the broader utilities or renewables industry sectors.
  • Previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment
