Waste Water Inspector - Developer Services x 3

 

Salary negotiable dependant on experience - 25 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holiday – Pension – Company Van

Location: x 2 East Riding of Yorkshire – with travel around North and East Yorkshire and x 1  North Yorkshire – with travel around North and East Yorkshire

 

 

 

What will your role involve?

 

Yorkshire Water are currently recruiting for 3 Waste Water Inspectors to join our Waste Water Field Team.

The Developer Services team works with commercial developers and customers to ensure any new developments have the correct wastewater plans in place. You will have the opportunity to play a key part in enabling house building across the region, bringing economic growth, and allowing you to play your part in making Yorkshire a brilliant place to be.

Your role as Waste Water Inspector forms part of the Waste Water Field Team within Developer Services, part of the Customer Experience function.

You will be the key point of contact for our customer and ensure that the construction carried out on site is delivered to specification, within timescales and accurate information is provided to enable applications to be progressed in a timely manner.

You will be able to work to deadlines and deliver solutions within timescales, have a flexible approach and are able to work over large geographical areas and undertake multiple waste related Developer Services site inspections.

 

 

 

You will be accountable for the following:

 

The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the new development sector, with an understanding of wastewater networks construction techniques and initiatives.

 

A confident communicator you will be able to work collaboratively and build relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.

 

Some of the key responsibilities you will have will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Demonstrate day to day management of your work basket and ensure appointment compliance.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to other teams within the business when necessary to maintain customer service.
  • Demonstrate financial awareness when making day to day business decisions.
  • Act as a front-line representative of Yorkshire Water, ensuring that vehicles, corporate clothing, and equipment are maintained appropriately, and Company values and behaviours are demonstrated during all activities
  • Work as part of the team to deliver excellent performance by understanding how their individual performance links into achieving the team’s wider objectives.
  • Take personal responsibility for yourself and others with respect to health and safety, risk management and control of work to ensure compliance with the YW Safety Policy.
  • Demonstrate relentless drive, energy, and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for YW that rigorously achieves our vision to be clearly the best against demanding competitive industry benchmarks.

 

 

 

What skills are we looking for?

 

Essential

 

  • Experience of understanding where your role fits within a business plan and then developing ways to deliver the outputs.
  • Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
  • Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours.
  • Experience of working independently.
  • Ability to asset own work pattern and manage own workload.
  • Experience of working in a Customer service environment.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Good understanding and use of IT systems
  • Full Clean Driving Licence

 

 

 

Desirable

 

  • Sound understanding of the construction of wastewater assets.
  • Previous experience gained within the wastewater sector or within the broader utilities, process, or manufacturing industry sectors
  • Experience of delivering against challenging business targets.
  • Previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment.
  • Experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours
