Strategic Planner – Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan

 

 

Salary & Benefits: £28,206 -£35,257 per annum dependent on experience + attractive pension + quarterly performance related bonus + 25 days holiday

Location: The role is based at our Buttershaw site, Bradford but is likely to involve regular travel across the Yorkshire region.

 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for two Strategic Planners to join our team at Yorkshire Water who will deliver the first regional Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP).

 

 

What will your role involve?

 

 

The delivery of the DWMP is an emerging regulatory requirement for all Water Companies to produce in collaboration with stakeholders and customers a strategic plan to demonstrate how the company will respond to future challenges facing the wastewater.

 

You will play a key role within the DWMP team by collating and analysing data, developing a risk picture, working with other stakeholders and support the building of a long-term investment programme.

 

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are outlined below:

 

  • To identify, collate, visualise and share data required to support the delivery of the Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan.
  • Support the promotion and implementation of the Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan Framework within the business and with external stakeholders.
  • Support the Drainage Strategy Implementation Manager in identifying improvements to the modelling and strategic planning policies and processes.
  • Collate and analyse data and be responsible for making it accessible across a variety of different media.
  • Managing the transfer of data between both internal and external stakeholders whilst complying with company IT and security requirements.
  • Identify and develop solutions/interventions to identified risks.
  • Drive the outputs of the Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan into the OFWAT Price Review Submissions.
  • Maintaining & promoting a culture of excellent Health, Safety & Wellbeing

 

 

What skills are we looking for?

 

 

Strong analytical and data processing skills are essential. Experience in the application of these skills in a commercial environment to understand business performance & risk would be advantageous.

 

Successful candidates must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, with knowledge of techniques utilising wastewater network and process modelling being highly desirable.

 

Industry/sector experience is essential, and candidates should be able to demonstrate and understanding of wastewater treatment and/or sewerage.

 

Successful candidate must have a valid UK Driving Licence

 

The successful candidate must be able to thrive as part of multi-discipline/ multi-stakeholder working groups and be confident in taking a leading role within such groups to ensure the delivery of outputs against a backdrop of competing priorities and pressures. As such strong influencing, communication and presenting skills are essential.
