SAP Platforms Manager

 

Salary: Competitive dependent on experience + annual bonus + car / car allowance + pension + private healthcare + 25 days holiday

 

Location: Currently working remotely during Covid & thereafter Bradford with flexible/hybrid working arrangements.

 

Purpose of the Role:

 

The SAP Platforms Manager will provide technical leadership to a team of SAP Platform Leads to steer the process for developing, deploying and maintaining a consistent IT architecture and governance across SAP Solutions, ensuring that delivery is aligned with business needs.

 

The SAP Platforms Manager provides leadership and coaching to SAP Platforms Leads within the team, setting standards, guidelines and appropriate tooling.  The SAP Platforms Manager is also accountable for delivery of all associated SAP platform technology roadmaps, identifying and sponsoring appropriate IT investments.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

•            Lead the team to deliver excellent performance by setting clear expectations linked to business strategy and targets.

 

•            Support the development of strategic plans to ensure the IT capability will meet the business needs and is aligned with all relevant technical roadmaps.

    

•            Deliver the required functionality to support business operations and drive business process improvements.

 

•            Provide specialist technical advice and challenge for schemes and change programmes.

 

•            Ensure technical governance is based on sound architectural principles and correctly documented e.g. SAP Design Authority.

 

•            Maintain strong and effective working relationships with external partners, utilising guidance and best practice to shape future roadmaps.

             

Knowledge and Skills Required:

 

•            Extensive hands-on experience of designing and building complex, scalable and resilient SAP platform solutions, utilising a range of SAP technologies and architectures.

 

•            Experience of architectural frameworks, tools and patterns in the production of associated artefacts to support SAP Application Lifecycle Management best practices.

 

•            Extensive SAP Basis experience, covering both traditional Netweaver platforms as well as emerging on-premise and cloud solutions in a hybrid landscape.

 

•            Knowledge and experience of integrating SAP platforms with SAP and non-SAP Cloud solutions

 

•            Experience in capacity planning with regards implemented SAP Platforms

 

•            Experience of S4/HANA

 

•            Experience of waterfall/agile methodologies as delivery mechanisms with strong ability to select the appropriate methodology for a given scenario in a way that adequately balances responsiveness and business risk. 

 

•            Functional SAP knowledge –i.e  how SAP architecture affects the wider business needs.

 

•            Awareness of Enterprise Architecture, TOGAF & ITIL principles.

 

•            A credible change agent; capable of supporting a change of culture & behaviours within a team/department; experience of developing & deploying plans/projects to support the implementation of a known strategy.

 

•            Strong leadership skills & experience of leading a team of SAP specialists.

 

•            Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

 

•            Experience of strategic thinking or influencing a strategic direction. Visionary

 

•            Direct experience of leading & embedding change.

 

•            Knowledge and experience of working in SAP Cloud Platform and other hyperscale environments

SAP Platforms Manager
