Salary & Benefits: Salary range £32,000 - £40,000 per annum dependent on experience. Benefits include company pension, 25 days annual leave, performance bonus and retail savings scheme 

 

 

This is a full time, permanent position, working 37 hours per week between a working window of 8am-6pm Monday to Friday

 

 

The role is based at Bradford, with a hybrid working arrangement in place, a mix of office and home-working


 

What will the role involve? 
 

 

Developer Services works with commercial developers and customers to ensure any new developments have the correct water and wastewater plans in place. You will play a key role within this team, in controlling the commercial functions within Developer Services and working collaboratively with our important internal and external stakeholders. 
 

 

You will support the business, taking responsibility for the end-to-end commercial process for all projects within Developer Services. By doing so, this will enable development and economic growth across the region, playing our part in making Yorkshire a brilliant place to be – now and always.  
 

 

You will support Developer Services in all commercial and contractual aspects and carry out commercial contract audits, providing assurance that costs claimed are in line with contracted terms and conditions of the agreement, including pricing schedules.
 

 

You will liaise with key business partners gathering intelligence of contract performance, with the objective of defining the scope and objectives, seeking sign off prior to commencing a contract audit. You will identify commercial control deficiencies, and financial wastage, highlighting any economical sustainable recommendations. You will work closely with the Commercial Contract Managers to discuss progress of audits, seeking guidance and direction on investigative leads. You will formally present all commercial contract audit reports setting out all recommendations and recovery plans, ensuring effective management and correction of any under-performance from a commercial partner.
 

 

You will support our reporting team to deliver auditable data and analysis for the Ofwat Annual Performance Report and any other reporting requests that may arise.  You will also work on the building of our annual charges for water and waste services and report on specific results and indicators to support our current water and waste charging strategy and to build future improvements.
 

 

What skills are we looking for? 

 

 

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a commercial environment and demonstrating successful deployment of strategies within a business. You will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of auditing principles and expert knowledge of the new development sector both water and wastewater networks, construction techniques and initiatives. 
 

 

You will have sound knowledge of the Water Industry Act and all relevant legislation (e.g. Code for Adoption and Building Acts) and of water and wastewater processes.
 

 

You will be able to think technically and strategically and have a proactive style, able to identify new opportunities and influence and challenge in a complex, fast paced environment.
 

 

A confident communicator you will be able to build relationships and influence external organisations and have previous experience of conflict resolution.
 

 

You will be highly organised able to manage your own workload and the coordination of other teams/projects and stakeholders.
