Information Security Manager

 

Salary: £57,000 to £62,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Pension + 25 days holiday

 
Location: Working from home during Covid & thereafter Bradford with flexible/remote working arrangements

 


Purpose of the role:

 

The Information Security Manager (ISM) is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of working practices to establish and preserve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all data assets.  The ISM is responsible for maintaining Information Security (IS) policies and controls, in addition to application, infrastructure and network security reviews of business operations to ensure the security of all Information Security assets.


The ISM has oversight of the Cyber Security Operations Centre and is involved with the prevention, identification and detection of IT and information security risks over the entire business.

 

 

What will the role involve?

 

•    Single point of contact for Information Security matters within Yorkshire Water


•    Creation and implementation of information security strategy and development plans.


•    Understanding external/internal threats to Yorkshire Water and ensuring that a robust Security Strategy is in place to mitigate them.


•    Work with the enterprise architecture team to ensure that there is a convergence of business, technology and security requirements.


•    The creation of IS policy and procedures and management of the Information Security policy framework, playbooks, procedures and standards.


•    The testing and assurance of all the above documents


•    Investigate, manage and report on company compliance to IS policy. 


•    Ensuring on-going compliance / certification with ISO27K, PCI-DSS and the Cyber Essentials Scheme and taking the lead on any scope increases


•    Conduct regular compliance assessments of internal systems, third parties and controls and prepare subsequent reports and recommendations. 


•    Responsible for the management of the security risk register and the mitigation of risks


•    Ensure that all Incident Root Causes and on-going issues are managed appropriately 


•    Correlating Threat and Vulnerability intelligence against the Risk Register


•    Ensure security testing and system security testing programme is maintained.


•    Overseeing the management of the cyber security operations centre.


•    Overall responsibility for the investigation of IS related 

 


What skills are we looking for?


•    Relevant IS industry recognised qualification such as (ISC)² CISSP/CISM and / or a degree in Information Security or relevant experience in the IS field.


•    Proven experience and ability to manage people, processes, and technology. 


•    Proven track record of delivering IS initiatives.


•    A significant knowledge and experience of IT that demonstrates core competencies in an information security role and experience of cyber security, cyber essentials and social engineering.


•    Broad understanding of current IS technologies, vulnerabilities, exploits, exposures and malicious behaviours.


•    Experience with common IS management frameworks, such as International Standards Organization (ISO) 27001, PCI DSS and the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).


•    Practical experience of risk management methodology, toolsets and the risk management process
